The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf screens lack wolves and blood photo

This afternoon, CDProject RED released three whoreless and bloodless screenshots of The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf. Despite the subdued nature of the images, we now confirm one thing: the game is going to look hot.

But will it play hot? Bringing a PC role-playing to consoles isn’t always the smoothest transition. CDProject RED have been largely mum on details, but we do know that the battle system is getting an overhaul. “We wanted to meet console users’ expectations, so we’re giving them full control of Geralt during combat,” CD Project RED senior designer Jakub Stylinski told Game Informer last month. “The interface is also being created from scratch to make sure that it’s very intuitive and fits with what people expect in a console game.”

If by “most people” Stylinski meant “Brad Nicholson” then he should be aware that I expect the sound of a dying polar bear to accompany every sword block. I’ve had enough of steel’s tinny.

Nicer graphics, check. Improved fighting, check.

But does it have a Polish language option?

Without it, the VA is a laughable turn-off, even with the improved localization from the PC Enhanced Edition.

Unless I get some Polish in my Blu-Ray, or otherwise some other kind of vastly improved quality, I'm out.

I hate the devs for not releasing a a collector's edition of The Witcher in the United States, the Euros get one, but not the Americanos. I wonder if there's going to be one for Rise of the Wolf...

@Chronic Logic

The Enhanced Edition retail could probably count as a collector's edition. Cloth map, printed guide, DLC, construction set, etc, plus the alternative language pack.

So, CD Projekt, no Polish, no polish!

The retail copy of American enhanced edition only got a short guide, short excerpt from a book, and a paper map (not cloth) along with the digital stuff everyone got.

It didn't even come with the fucking manual..

not to mention its been edited and censored from the original polish version

(the shit thing is I got carded buying it too)

To top it all off, I still haven't gotten past the first town yet and I've had it for months. I don't know if it takes a bit to get the narrative going or something, but my experience with it has been "meh"

It's scaring me that my tastes are becoming more and more like Yahtzee... I'm afraid to play Saints Row 2 lest I suddenly think to myself "oh my god... this is the best game of the year"

I will then have to kill myself.
