The top three winners of the Nintendo Short cuts contest were announced a few days ago (yeah, sorry, way late on this). Here are the winners:
1st place: Good vs. Wiivil — Jack Paccione, Jr., Staten Island, NY 2nd place: Koopa Force — Marc Duddleson, Monroe, NC 3rd place: The Nintendo Office — Christopher Preksta, Pittsburgh, PA
So my guesses were completely wrong. How about you? Did any of you think Good vs. Wiivil would take top prize? Here is what Jack Paccione won as well as the other winner's prizes:
As 1st place winner, Paccione wins a $10,000 cash prize and a public screening in New York City, where the top three shorts will be screened as part of the Tribeca Drive-In Short Film Series at Top of the Rock. Paccione also receives a "power lunch" with Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Craig Hatkoff. All 10 finalists will receive Nintendo systems and software.
I'm still pissed that the Punch-Out trailer didn't even get a nod. Speaking of which, the team that made the video, Team Awesome Rocks, just released a bloopers real to thank their fans for the support. I'm expecting really great videos from these guys in the future.
I liked Good vs. Wiivil as a winner solely because it was in fact a short film... and it totally advertized their new product.
But I have to express my dislike for Nintendo Office - the short is a quick watch over at youtube and then you're DONE WITH IT FOR LIFE... that thing didn't deserve to be in the top 10, much less win 3rd prize.
I stick by the PUNCH-OUT short as well, that baby should have won/been in the top 5, that much more in the top 10.
Also, Koopa Force is a bit of alright... it's cute. I liked it quite a bit.
It was only a matter of time. The highly anticipated Oculus Rift is getting its very own virtual sex game, Wicked Paradise. According to itself, it's "the world's first erotic virtual reality adventure game." You love it.
