The Wii Sims game will have ... Miis?!! photo

What do you get when you breed Animal Crossing and The Sims? Perhaps a rush of mixed feelings, such as utter disgust and curious excitement. In a very surprising turn of events, it appears EA has embraced the Mii concept and is abandoning the polished graphics of the Sims 2 in favor of something far more cute and Wii Sports-like. According to MozLaPunk, these two images were taken from the latest issue of Famitsu and will be available as early as January 2007 in Japan! Could this game be the Mii's killer app or just a resemblance? We soon shall see!

It looks to me like you make a character in the game that's very Mii-esque but not a Mii per se. Last time I checked, you can't make a Mii with a chef hat or a flower in it's hair. Either that or the Mii channel is getting revamped with new crap.

You know, this isn't a bad idea. You can take your basic Mii from your Wii (if that makes sense) and then just custimize the Mii further within what is allowed by The Sims. However, I think this would work better with Animal Crossing than with The Sims, but wii shall see how it all works out.

those sim Miis look diferent then the Wii Miis.
but i ghues the game throws a sim Mii together from what you chose in the Wii Mii.
annyway, it looks kind of fun.
all it needs now is a online area you can hang around in and meet up with people.

Are nintendo even trying to shake the stereotype that everything it makes is for children ? Because, maybe they should put a little more effort into it.

P.S: If Nintendo ever stop making Pokemon games, they can rot in hell. The program sucks though.

Your grammar makes the statement difficult to understand.

Did you just accuse Nintendo of doing everything just for kids, then say they better never stop making pokemon games?

Why couldn't they have just stuck with the regular Sims 2 look? What'll happen when Nintendo releases Animal Crossing Wii? Why is this being released in Japan first and why do the characters have an 'anime-esque' look to them if this is from EA? Why do I ask so many questions?

Anybody who plays Sims, must hate their real life. That game is by far one of the dumbest gaming ideas ever.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Iwata or Miyamoto said that the Mii interface can and will be built upon by third party software. Whether this means we'd also be able to load up an advanced Mii channel outside of the Sims and save those to the Wii also I don't know.

Thinking about it though, it would be kind of cool to get a free set of Nintendo themed Mii details when you buy Mario Galaxy.

NetPhantom.

Thats real english, as in England English. Not American.
Its a rhetorical question btw. :P

And the Pokemon thing is irony, And im not critisising the childish image it projects, But with moving RE to Gamecube, Nintendo were actively fighting against that image, i would assume that they'd continue the fight, not give up.

This looks pretty cool and interesting. But I think an Animal Crossing type game with Mii's would be better.

So what your saying is that when characters look like this, its a kiddie game but when the same game got characters that look more "realistic" its more fore adults. Personally I like this style better and I'm fully grown up.

if Ninty is pissing you off because they're too kiddy, WTF did you expect? Them to flip 180 degrees on their rabid player base and give them the finger? I'm just glad they're making use of the Miis besides having parades on your console and playing Wii sports.... We all knew Ninty had plans for these Miis.....

Now if they made resident evil with Miis, that'd be overboard (and I'm glad they didn't make Zelda a Mii, I'd be playing the ugliest link known to man if that was the case.... though he'd have a sexy goatie on him).

These aren't Nintendo's Miis, they're EA's own creation. Which makes it seem like they're trying to cash in on the popularity of the cutsey Miis, rather than expanding on it. Stupid.

Are we 100% sure this is the Sims and not another game? The only source seems to be a relatively small website. I'm hesitant to believe this is deffinitively the Sims.

They could be using Miis but allowing Sim-only customization (the cooks hat and whatnot).
