The Week in Rock Band DLC: The Offspring, REM, Richard Thompson photo

The kids seem to like this Rock Band thing, so MTV Games and Harmonix keep pumping out the tracks. Here's what's coming next week:

  • The Offspring - "All I Want"
  • The Offspring - "The Kids Aren't Alright"
  • R.E.M. - "Losing My Religion"
  • Richard Thompson - "The Way That It Shows"

All tracks will cost you $1.99 (160 MS Points on Xbox 360), as usual.

For those curious, Richard Thompson is a legendary singer, songwriter, and guitar player. In fact, guy was among the top 20 of Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest guitar players of all time. So saying he's "good" is an understatement. With that in mind, I hope you're pretty good with that plastic axe, because you might need some chops to keep up.

Offspring are a great band. I love those two songs even though the albums they came off of are not there best. Smash and there latest albums are top notch stuff.

I'll buy The Kids Aren't Alright and Losing My Religion. Still, we've had all these R.E.M. tracks and no It's The End Of The World As We Know It?

Went to see Richard Thompson twice this year already. He does "1,000 years in music" and plays stuff from the 1100's, all the way up to Maneater by Nelly Furtado.

It's quite an experience. Luckily I got free tix and couldn't resist going twice.

Great guitar player, like me. From North London, like me. Wears a beret, like I will in a few years time.

Really? Losing My Religion? I understand it's one of their most famous songs, but they could have chosen something that's fun to play. What about Begin the Begin og anything from Accelerate?

Those two songs by The Offspring are actually the only songs that I like by them, and Loosing My Religion is my favourite track by REM. So I'd say this is a really good track pack.

FINALLY! I've been waiting for "The Kids Aren't Alright" since they first said they had some Offspring songs for Rock Band! The other two songs there look good too, but I sadly don't know Richard Thompson.

2 bucks for 4 songs? You know a year later, they're going to bundle EVERY rock band songs into one big edition, for like a fraction this price.

HAH! That same fucking list put Munky from KoRn above Jeff Loomis, that's just silly.

I'm tired of all this tame rock crap

I will be buying both Offspring songs and Losing My Religion. Huzzah...I actually had Losing My Religion in my head the other day and was thinking how fun it would be to play that on Rock Band. Now I can! And by now, I mean Tuesday.
