The Week in Rock Band DLC: Rush's Moving Pictures (no, really!) and more photo

After the long delay, next week we'll finally be seeing the release of Rush's classic album Moving Pictures on the Rock Band music store. The entire album will cost $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points), and individual tracks can be snagged for $1.99 (160 MS Points).

More info on the album can be found in our original announcement post, which went up eight years ago, before Harmonix and MTV Games delayed the release and made gamers cry.

Other individual tracks are also joining the release, including:

  • Bad Religion - "Sorrow"
  • The Cult - "She Sells Sanctuary"
  • Hot Hot Heat - "Bandages"
  • Kasabian - "Shoot the Runner"
  • Sleater-Kinney - "You're No Rock N Roll Fun"
  • Stone Roses - "Love Spreads"
All tracks are masters, and will cost you $1.99 (160 MS Points) a piece. Our resident Rock Band/Guitar Hero savant power-glove points out that Stone Roses' "Love Spreads" joins the list of tracks available in both Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour. The plot thickens.

OK, who's buying what this week?

Glad to see them get the Rush album back out again reasonably fast. But some of the individual tracks are great. Namely She Sells Sanctuary. What a fantastic song.

Sorrow should be fun despite the fact that it's my least favorite Bad Religion song.

sorry about the blank post above

I have a crazy RUSH fan friend that is going to give me the money to buy this so he can play it. Plus Kasabian should be fun too.

Good to hear that Moving Pictures wasn't forgotten about. I was starting to get concerned that it was off the radar.

You know, honestly I don't know why I bother owning other games. Rust in Peace this week and Moving Pictures next week? How am I supposed to find the time to play anything else?

I doubt I'll pick any of these up, though Rush is tempting, I wish they had just charged $10 instead of $11 for it. It wouldn't be an issue if I could buy any number of MS Points at any given time.

The Bad Religion track might be fun to sing, but I don't know if I like it enough to make a purchase.

wtf RUSH AGAIN?

HOW ABOUT SOME NEW BANDS THAT WERE MORE POPULAR THAN THIS CRAP.

Nirvana, Beatles, Hendrix, Zepp, Elvis etc..

Power Rangers, Mega Man.

I tired of crappy DLC.

Like Loverboy would say, I"m "Loving Every Minute Of It." However, like Bruceleethree alluded to, I wonder how many younger folks care about our generation's music?

Sweet, Rush is awesome. Although I'm holding out that one of my dreams will be fulfilled i.e. either Raconteurs, White Stripes, Protomen, or more Wolfmother to show up. Any one of those and I would be satisfied for quite a while.

That's a ton of music, when they could have just easily said "this is all you're getting this week, late DLC." Instead, they added the missed DLC to this week's DLC, which is awesome!

One of the few reasons I was maybe considering buying GHWT was for "Love Spreads." Now that it's available for RB2, I can save myself $60. Thanks, Harmonix! I picked up that album for free back when I worked in a music store in the mid-'90s. I had never heard of the Stone Roses, but I loved that album, and especially that track. The CD had a hidden track that was nothing but random noise, and I loved playing it over the store PA. Ah, good times.

I'm also stoked about Sleater-Kinney; after hearing L7 and Silverspun Pickups, I was thinking RB2 needed some Sleater-Kinney action. Oh, and "She Sells Sanctuary"! Damn, what a week. Too bad I only have enough points on my account for two tracks...

Why is it so popular to hate on Rush? Jesus, they makes some good music..sure they have made crap too, but you cant expect a band to be around for 30+ years and not have a few bad apples.

Ill be getting all of Moving Pictures and Bandages (that song is so damned catchy)

"She Sells Sanctuary" was one of the few great things about Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, and I'm so damn happy I can play it in Rock Band now. I hope this is the start of a "more The Cult" trend for RB. But I gotta agree on the overabundance of Rush -- sure, they're great and all, but I've already got, like, five Rush songs between both RB's and DLC. Don't think I'll pick it up yet since I'm still having a blast with the new songs in RB2.

@AwesomeToph -- The Cult is always nice. She Sells Sanctuary and Fire Woman are timeless to me. :P

Kasabian in Rock Band gives me a boner. Also, "Bandages" is a pretty good tune.

May have to buy bandages..would need to listen to the rest of the singles.

Might get tom sawyer, limelight, and vital signs...though I'm kinda bitter about tom sawyer(non-cover) and limelight(non-cover) being dlc still..I am a strong proponent of them being available for free just out of principle.

The Cult and Stone Roses for sure. In addition to Moving Pictures, of course.
