Harmonix remains faithful to its promise today with another weekly dose of
Rock Band DLC, this time offering up the "
Punk Pack," with three new songs to pierce your nose to. Included in the set are:
The Clash: "I Fought the Law"
The Ramones: "Rockaway Beach"
(not) The Buzzcocks: "Ever Fallen in Love" (It's a cover version.)
Not that the Buzzcocks' song being a cover makes any difference since, you know, you'll be singing it. Each track is 160 MS points on its own, or you can download the authority-defying Punk Pack in its entirety for 440 points. Allow me to recommend The Clash's "I Fought the Law," as it's got that weird drum part in the middle that your friends will inevitably screw up, affording you a golden opportunity to point at them and laugh.
While it's nice to see a little more (finger quotes) "Punk Rock" in the roster, I'm still foolishly hoping the good people at Harmonix will venture outside the realm of the standard-issue,
available at Target, mainstream idea of what that means at some point. Is it too much to ask for a Descendents song or two? Chop chop.

Rock Band needs some Black Flag, that would be epic
I actually have my eye out on London Calling being released. Some actual 80's hardcore, though, might not exactly be what I want in my video games. However, all morality issues aside, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Fugazi, Jawbreaker, and Dead Kennedys would be pretty alright.
i think even more so what we need is The Bouncing Souls, "Manthem." they should give you extra points for the mic detecting more than one person screaming "Oi! Oi! Oi!" but the Souls will never touch this game since it involves MTV.
MTV's involvement is good for getting lots of master versions of lots of pop songs, but it is going to prevent some of these bands from ever being in Rock Band.
while i consider Fugazi the best band in the world, they are the last band in the WHOLE FUCKING WORLD who would put their songs in a game. don't get your hopes up for most of these bands. what i am hoping for is some Bad Religion. they are prone to putting songs in video games. i would kill for Minor Threat, Strung Out, Black Flag ("TV Party", OMG!), and all the other bands already listed here.. but i don't think it is going to ever happen.
minor threat and descendents would be sufficient, but black flag, misfits, and bad brains would be win. gosh, so much more i could ask for.
i'll be getting this pack
The Pointed Sticks, Elvis Costello and Gary Numan for the MOTHERFUCKING win.
Oh and New Order, too!
Fixed that for ya:
