Happy New Year! Here is your Rock Band DLC for the first week of 2008 ...
I've never been accused of cheating and then been threatened at gunpoint, but I think after a few bottles of Jack Daniels, I could easily sell (the master track of) Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps." The song is one of three songs added to the Rock Band downloadable content roster this week. Along with a cover of The Black Crowe's "Hard to Handle," the classic tune is going to be a must-have for those looking to pump up their Southern rock-flavored set lists.
Rounding out this week's selections is a cover of "Limelight," the fourth track off of Rush's eight studio album, Moving Pictures. The lyrics to "Limelight" were penned by Rush's Neil Peart, and primarily deal with him struggling to handle the band's rising success. Ironically, Moving Pictures became one of the Rush's most commercially successful albums.
All of the tracks will cost the expected 160 MS points/$2, and are currently available on the Xbox Live Marketplace (if you're lucky enough to access it). PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait until Thursday for the tracks; as a reminder, they will also be getting the five songs they missed out on from last week, due to the holidays.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
If only World Tour didn't punish you by adding these songs to the setlists, and expect you to know them the second you download them...
And do not insult Rush.
Now MOAR DLC!!
They should add Subdivisions, as it is quite possibly the first robot/human duet.
wait.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Vital Signs is a better song, though.
Also, Nick: “Ironically, Moving Pictures became one of the Rush's most commercially successful albums.
There shouldn’t be any “the” in that sentence.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
