While everyone was busy at GDC last Friday, Harmonix decided to sneak out the announcement of Rock Band DLC for the week of February 26. Announcements will now be made the Friday prior to release, a few days earlier than the norm. Why? Because Harmonix like you.

Fans of Trent Reznor should squeal with glee, as this week brings us the aforementioned "Nine Inch Nails" pack. Songs included in $5.49 (440 MS Point) pack are "March of the Pigs," "The Collector," and "The Perfect Drug." All of the tracks are master tracks, so you can't whine about that.

You can, however, whine about the selections. Go on, do it. You know you want to bitch about how they should release the entire Broken EP (including all 91 tracks of silence, for authenticity). Or better yet, please comment about how the previously announced downloadable albums haven't been released yet. Please.

This pack was previously leaked by Official Xbox Magazine, with a March 18 release date. I suppose when Harmonix says things like "These releases are subject to change," they're not kidding. In fact, I hear at least one of the songs on that leaked list will never see the light of day. Which one? Who knows, but it's probably your favorite song. Because Harmonix hates you.

All shit. Should have been Closer, at least. Then again, I don't own the game, I won't for a long while and I don't like DLC.

They should really, really, really have done Last, as opposed to something off With Teeth. Alas, my NIN itch has been scratched regardless.

Man, I can't wait to see some of the drumming injuries that occur from people furiously trying to keep up with March of the Pigs or The Perfect Drug. :D

Good job, Harmonix!

"The Collector"? Why the HELL would they choose "The Collector"? It's not even a single!

Oh hey drummers - good luck with the limbs randomly falling off during The Perfect Drug.

Thats awesome to see. Can't wait to get Rock Band here. It is good to see some good music started to hit the DLC for it now.

Now is it just me or should Guitar Hero 3 or Rock Band have some Rammstein songs on it? How sick would that be? Playing through Fuer Frie or Buck Dich or Zerstoren or something else nice and heavy from them.

Would be nice... then again, would not be nice on Rock Band seeing as most people wouldn't be able to sing anything apart from English songs heh

Great classic song but how the hell would you play it with Rock Band?
gopher's Avatar
gopher at 02/24/2008 21:44
@ UglyPhil:

And the guitarist is going to do *what* exactly during Closer? The bassist might get 20 seconds of play time, the drummer maybe 1-2 minutes. The fuck is wrong with you? Those are great NIN songs to be released for Rock Band.

Though I will agree that Broken should be released in it's entirety, I'm not complaining -- I'll take what I can get :)

March of the Pigs is probably one of the better choices to rock out to, actually, despite it not being in my NIN favorites list. It lends itself really well to the game. I do love The Perfect Drug. The Collector though? Huh. If they wanted to choose something from [WITH_TEETH], they could've at least gone with You Know What You Are? But I digress. If I had Rock Band, I'd download the fuck out of this song pack.
