MTV Games and Harmonix have announced that next week will mark the release of the classic Red Hot Chili Peppers album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, on the Rock Band store.

16 tracks join "Give It Away" (already available on the Rock Band 2 disc) to form the complete album, and will cost $19.99 (or 1600 MS Points) for the full package, or $1.99 (or 160 MS Points) per song.

The full track listing (including "Give It Away, and ripped directly from Wikipedia) is as follows:

  1. "The Power of Equality" – 4:03
  2. "If You Have to Ask" – 3:37
  3. "Breaking the Girl" – 4:55
  4. "Funky Monks" – 5:23
  5. "Suck My Kiss" – 3:37
  6. "I Could Have Lied" – 4:04
  7. "Mellowship Slinky in B Major" – 4:00
  8. "The Righteous & the Wicked" – 4:08
  9. "Give It Away" – 4:43
  10. "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" – 4:31
  11. "Under the Bridge" – 4:24
  12. "Naked in the Rain" – 4:26
  13. "Apache Rose Peacock" – 4:42
  14. "The Greeting Song" – 3:14
  15. "My Lovely Man" – 4:39
  16. "Sir Psycho Sexy" – 8:17
  17. "They're Red Hot" (Robert Johnson) – 1:11
This release marks the third week in a row that a full album has been made available; the prior two weeks have seen Megadeth's Peace Sells ... But Who's Buying? and the delayed Rush record, Moving Pictures. Someone wasn't kidding when they said 500 songs by year's end, eh?

As usual, Xbox LIVE Marketplace gets the album next Tuesday, PlayStation Network next Thursday.

Good job, Harmonix, I've been looking forward to this one since it was announced. Now, how about a patch that fixes the random 3 second-long freeze-ups?

I really enjoy playing RHCP songs, so this is pretty cool, but... like Strife said, this is getting expensive. I just dropped $22 on Peace Sells and Moving Pictures this week. Now, another $20 for BSSM? That's a tough sell for me. I might have to re-listen to the album before I make a decision.

Don't get me wrong - I love the fact that they're releasing full albums. I guess it would be a little nicer for my wallet if they'd space them out a bit. Just sayin'.

Also, Nightwish DLC please.

It is getting expensive, but you don't HAVE to buy the albums right now. I mean, they're not going anywhere. :D

Wow I honestly JUST talked about this with my buddy after Peace Sells But Who's Buying came out. There was one of the crappy Chili Peppers songs on RB and I was sayin dammit they gotta bring out Blood Sugar, the WHOLE album, and BAM...awesome. Keep reading my mind and I'll have 50 naked hot chicks and a magical keg that pours anything I want...like...money...and beer...and bacon...mmm naked women covered in bacon beer money... ?

This is the music industries getting us back for stealing all that music. (Not that I steal music, cause I don’t).

Big time "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!"- Vader style

My Gamertag is Metalocalypse

I will be purchasing this entire set when it comes out.

This was one of the best albums of my formative years, so even on the worst tracks, I'm pleased as punch to own them.

So, if anyone is just itching to play some bass on Naked In The Rain, hit me up.

Like the other guy said... how in the blue hell are they going to get Sir Psycho Sexy on there without censoring the whole thing???

That said, I'm buying the whole thing. My favorite album when it came out when I was in high school.

God dammit, just when I think "hey, maybe this week they'll go back to three songs a week, and I can catch up on the $80 worth of single songs I still need," they release another album. I mean, I can't really complain, because this is great support, but my wallet is weeping every post I see.

This is nice. Breaking The Girl is wonderful. I'll be picking this up in singles form, but I'll probably snag six tracks or so.

Right band, wrong album.

Californication, By the way, or Stadium Arcadium would have all been better choices.

New stuff > old stuff

maverick, stadium arcadium is actually too different from their usual stuff, at least for me.

i agree on Californication...get that shit out there, harmonix!

If we're thinking of a different album, i would have gone with their greatest hits, with maybe a couple of 3 song packs with Cant Stop (why it wasnt a hit, i dont know) and some songs from Stadium Arcadium. Getting full albums is nice, but i can think of only maybe 2 or 3 albums in existence (from any band) where I like every song. Using greatest hits albums fixes that a bit.
