As a general rule, I'm not a huge fan of bands with names that start with "the." Don't ask me why, but that's just the way it is. Maybe it's because it looks stupid when I have to type something like "Among this week's Rock Band downloadable content is the The Police song, 'Truth Hits Everybody.'"
It just looks silly. So instead, pasted directly from Dyganth's Cblog (which was pasted directly from the official Rock Band forums), here we go:
This week's DLC for $1.99 per song (160 Microsoft Points)
"Complete Control" by the Clash (master)
"Truth Hits Everybody" by the Police (master)
"Teenage Lobotomy" by the Ramones (master)
These songs can also be bought in a 3-song pack for $5.49 (440 Microsoft points)
I have to thank Harmonix for this week's downloadable content. Because I'm thrilled with the selections? Quite the contrary. This will be the first week since launch in which I will not be spending my MS Points on songs for this damned game. You've had me by the balls since November, Harmonix -- they appreciate the break this week.
The songs will be available tomorrow on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network this Thursday. Can someone tell me that I'll be missing something by passing on this week's selections, or is everyone with me on this?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
But since I finally started Mass Effect (bought it midnight with rockband on release day) last night Im glad the DLC sucked so I can play it.
I liked the Christmas releases :(
But yeah, this DLC sucks. When is Harmonix going to pick it up again?
Oh well, there's always next week!
440 points is the normal price for 3 rock band songs. It's a good deal though since you are getting 4 parts to play instead of just one.
*deep breath*
Seriously, this is great.
The fuck....
They put out seas of boring classic rock, metal, and wanky prog stuff and then on the second week that fans of classic punk get tossed a bone people bitch and moan that they don't have their customers in mind?
I chalk it up to licensing costs. It'll be a lot cheaper I suppose to get people in with B-list titles than popular singles.
But in truth, I would've like to have seen some more tracks from artists who aren't already on the Rock Band roster. Also, as it stands there's 4 Police songs and 1 from The Who and 1 from Boston. That shit ain't right.
I also agree on the comment about the Police's drummer. He's sick like Magic Johnson! Next to you is fun and MF'n hard. And it only just connected that he is a great drummer because when i saw them in concert, he had this epic bazillion piece drum set rise out behind the band and he proceeded to pwn your face with his 1337 skills.
Smokin' & Rock N' Roll Band please.
That said, there have certainly been worse weeks, although I think I like the stuff that's come out already from these bands better.
I'll probably pick up The Ramones as well, but I'm just about all Policed out. No thanks.
but
They all feel like b list songs. Wheres Van Halen? RATM. theres 100 other bands that should get their songs in there.
If Clutch or Ween ever see DLC for rock band I will splooge all over my xbox.
