As a general rule, I'm not a huge fan of bands with names that start with "the." Don't ask me why, but that's just the way it is. Maybe it's because it looks stupid when I have to type something like "Among this week's Rock Band downloadable content is the The Police song, 'Truth Hits Everybody.'"

It just looks silly. So instead, pasted directly from Dyganth's Cblog (which was pasted directly from the official Rock Band forums), here we go:

This week's DLC for $1.99 per song (160 Microsoft Points)

"Complete Control" by the Clash (master)
"Truth Hits Everybody" by the Police (master)
"Teenage Lobotomy" by the Ramones (master)

These songs can also be bought in a 3-song pack for $5.49 (440 Microsoft points)

I have to thank Harmonix for this week's downloadable content. Because I'm thrilled with the selections? Quite the contrary. This will be the first week since launch in which I will not be spending my MS Points on songs for this damned game. You've had me by the balls since November, Harmonix -- they appreciate the break this week.

The songs will be available tomorrow on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network this Thursday. Can someone tell me that I'll be missing something by passing on this week's selections, or is everyone with me on this?

I'm with you, but I will still be buying them because... well just because I have bought everything else and there have certainly been worse songs (I'm looking at you Christmas releases).

But since I finally started Mass Effect (bought it midnight with rockband on release day) last night Im glad the DLC sucked so I can play it.

@Burrito

I liked the Christmas releases :(

But yeah, this DLC sucks. When is Harmonix going to pick it up again?

Oh well, there's always next week!

I'm with you, I got Rock Band last friday and already bought 5 or 6 songs. I was kinda looking forward to this weeks's dlc just cause it would be my first dlc since owning the game, oh well guess there's always next Tuesday. (The NIN Pack can't come fast enough, come on March!!!)

440 MS Points for 3 songs? Ouch.

Pumped. The original punk pack gets more play when we multiplayer around here than any other tracks. Complete Control is a killer song.

440 points is the normal price for 3 rock band songs. It's a good deal though since you are getting 4 parts to play instead of just one.

Man seriously Harmonix, you kill me with these "meh" selections. When will wee see some better DLC?? I am starting to worry that they are sticking with their bias as opposed to what their customers want... no big surprise I guess.

Are you guy serious? Truth Hits Everybody is an awesome song, it's gonna be a blast to play on the drums. But of course when you have a drummer like Stewart Copeland in your band every song with drums is a blast to play.

"I am starting to worry that they are sticking with their bias as opposed to what their customers want... no big surprise I guess."

The fuck....

They put out seas of boring classic rock, metal, and wanky prog stuff and then on the second week that fans of classic punk get tossed a bone people bitch and moan that they don't have their customers in mind?

I have bought every single piece of DLC that Rock Band has put out. Tomorrow, I will be buying another pack of Rock Band songs.

Electrobes, that statement is absolutely ridiculous. They are supplying their customers with a product. If you don't want it don't buy it. There Police, Clash, and Ramones fans that are extremely happy with this week's selection and more than willing to pay money for it.

Yeah, I can't complain. All this selection aint for everybody, but I can't help but feel that a LOT of deep cuts type stuff is going to be up before the big hits that I'm looking for.

I chalk it up to licensing costs. It'll be a lot cheaper I suppose to get people in with B-list titles than popular singles.

But in truth, I would've like to have seen some more tracks from artists who aren't already on the Rock Band roster. Also, as it stands there's 4 Police songs and 1 from The Who and 1 from Boston. That shit ain't right.

I'm going to sound stupid here, but when you say, "OMG, this DLC song is so shitty" have some of you ever even heard of the song?

I also agree on the comment about the Police's drummer. He's sick like Magic Johnson! Next to you is fun and MF'n hard. And it only just connected that he is a great drummer because when i saw them in concert, he had this epic bazillion piece drum set rise out behind the band and he proceeded to pwn your face with his 1337 skills.

That Clash song sounds tempting. We do need MOAR Boston.

Smokin' & Rock N' Roll Band please.

Oh man. I REALLY regret not getting Rock Band now. Complete Control is one of my favorite songs ever and easily my favorite song from The Clash's pure punk era. BUT WEEE DI'NT WONT IT ON THE RAAAAA'IO.

I was hoping that we'd get a full album this week... hopefully this month, since it doesn't appear to be coming in March either.

That said, there have certainly been worse weeks, although I think I like the stuff that's come out already from these bands better.

I would like to clarify my statements, first I didn't like the Christmas releases because I hate new music generally, but I'm not only glad that some people do like, but this is also why harmonix is kicking ass. If you dont like a weeks releases you don't get that bummed because you know next we you have more coming. Unlike a certain other button control musical rhythm game where you may be dead before another pack comes out...

I will buy every song by The Clash that they care to release, until the end of time, because The Clash is the only band that matters.

I'll probably pick up The Ramones as well, but I'm just about all Policed out. No thanks.

You can safely skip the Ramones, but the Clash and Police tunes are excellent.
