The Warriors coming to XBLA in scrolling brawler form photo

This is a bit of an odd duck, but it's been announced that The Warriors is heading to Xbox Live Arcade as a brand new videogame. Published by Paramount Digital Entertainment, this new game is in celebration of The Warriors' 30th anniversary, and takes the form of a scrolling brawler.

CTXM, known for previous XBLA titles Heavy Weapon and Feeding Frenzy, are taking the development reigns on this one, and there's no connection to the Rockstar-developed Warriors title of last generation. 

The game is scheduled for a summer release, and will join a host of other celebratory products, including a comic book series.

And again, people never read the articles. This game has nothing to do with The Warriors game for X-Box. Sadly. Because having that game with online co-op would be awesome.

I wish they would make the old xbox one backward compatible tho. that'd be the cats pajamas.

I hope this is good, though I'd probably get it regardless. I love that movie. I'm with the others who've said that the Roackstar game + backwards combatibility or an online enabled remake would be awesome, but I'll still be looking forward to this...

This might really, be sucky.

I got Feeding Frenzy for my old g/f to play while I was sick off my ass. She enjoyed it alot.

Saw the gameplay on gametrailers. Looks eh. I thought it'd be like the mini-game in The Warriors, but it's a brand new game.

Hopefully they will realize the last game did it right and treat this new one like a mildly updated version of it....CoD World at War style.

Yeah, I don't see why this isn't coming out on PS3, I'd much prefer to have it on there. But if it's a good game, I'll get it either way probably.

I played the old psp one- that one ruled, I do wonder if they are going to do it like the arcade game in the game- bad dudes/double dragon style since it says scroller

I really want to get into The Warriors, but have yet to do anything, really. Hopefully the developer can pull a Guerrilla Games and make an awesome game after two shitty ones.

Damn. I was hoping this was the original xbox game. I never got to pick that up, but I'd always heard nothing but praise for it.
