The wait is over: first Bollywood game EVER is coming to PC photo

I've never seen a Bollywood movie. I'm not really a movie person in general, and what little I know about Bollywood movies is that there is a boatload of unnecessary singing and dancing extravaganzas. Not really my cup of tea.

However, it's extremely popular in India, but never before has there been a video game based on any of the movies -- until now. The recent film Gahjini is set to become the first Bollywood movie ever made into a PC game. According to the IMDB synopsis, it's about a millionaire with short term memory loss (pretty much exactly like Memento, down to the Polaroids and tattoos) who murders a bunch of people, and one of the characters is a "model cum activist". (I know that's not what it sounds like, but I couldn't stop laughing when I read that.)

An Indian game company called FXLabs is creating the game, which will be an action game based on the movie and feature voice acting (and hopefully dancing) from the movie's stars. Let's hope Gahjini makes it to Steam soon; the rest of the world not being able to play this game would be a travesty of the highest order.

I worked as a movie theater projectionist for four years, and I can attest that bollywood movies are exactly like that. They are so crazy and awesome. One minute, they can have a really serious, overproduced, hollywood-style scene, and then the next minute, they're all breaking out into song and dance and singing about sharing destinies in the springtime of their lives or some shit. It's just crazy. I've seen too many of these friggin things. If there's a bollywood video game, they need to do KRRISH and make it a fighting game with dance dance revolution minigames. That would be ball-tighteningly awesome.

I feel you mushman... I feel you deep... as a person who loves watching good movies... good english movies... I HATE bollywood... I physically hate bollywood... to the point where I think I hate the Indians Just because of bollywood... because of the how they plagiarize my favorite hollywood movies into piles of shit... to the point where watching bollywood movies is like raping steven spielberg in the ass with all his movies (his good ones)

Its making me racist towards the indians... its like wardrox liking games but hating suck... like jim sterling hating too human...
(I always wanted to compare myself to them :D)

To the new game... Im not a violent or rude guy... but I will say... Fuck you... fuck off... dont fucking copy off games I like... seriously fuck off... no seriously... fuck off... Im gonna go crazy if they rip off good games...

the worst part is... despite the plethora of good american tv shows... my dad watches these crap all day and night...

Meh I could care less about the game, but it is cool to see how Indian cinema has become so main stream. Ya sure to American audiences the absurd story's and constant dancing is a bother but all of Asia and chunks of Europe love there bollywood movies.

I hate Bollywood. Like, not just that sort of neutral hate where you can look at it but still look away and only feel a small pang of rage (like most of my contempt for everything), but my hate for Bollywood is full on red in the face flip a fucking couch over hate. It's unreal.

If I ever look at the game I will probably spring a leak.

all i know about Bollywood is that this music video is awesome:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_2gW3zwMMQ

it is one of my lifelong goals to witness a train full of Indian people passing through my home town. the lead singer has to look like Jackie Chan and they have to hack into my car radio so i can listen to their whole song. what? it could happen...

Bollywood movies are awesome!
my favourite is "Dhoom" the funny thing is, even though that's a "hard" ganster-movie, they still have the singing and dancing depicted in that pic...

but as you can also see in the pic, every bollywoodmovie has boatloads of incredibly hot chicks doing naughty dances, so I can't wait to see how they incorporate that into the game :-)

jesus christ mistic... I think... I think... thats an incredibly stupid thing to say if you are a person of taste... sometimes you can argue whether something is good... or or whether it is technically good... but not according to someones taste...

I can tell you... technically... and literally... they are all crap... yes I am painting them with a single brush... because the people who make "artsy" bollywood film... are the same people ripping off ideas from hollywood to make their next movie... they all suck... you cant condone plagarism... no matter how "naughty" they dance nor how hot the girls are...

They are all crap... yeah Hollywood makes a lot of crap too... but atleast they dont steal... even the stupidest movies are a little original... and when they steal or "remake" atleast they are honest about it...

Im sorry I rant about this... but I like good movies... I like good games... and it physically hurts me when someone rips them off...

also... bad scripts+slutty girls and dances= PORNO!!!

actually... I think even american pornos have better stories...

There's already been a Bollywood game. Sorta. Singstar Bollywood has been available in the UK on PS2 for quite some time. It's mostly made up of songs from Bollywood films, hence the title. I used to watch them quite often. They have a bizarre charm. I'd recommend Daag: The Fire and Gawalhi Bawalhi.
