This week's Videogame Show celebrates a classic fighting game that many of you will remember. Perhaps the most iconic franchise in the genre, next to Eternal Champions, I am of course talking about Street Fighter II. It is a good video that I've crafted with love and care, so you should probably watch it.
It's below the fold, which you can reach by clicking your mouse, unless you are someone in NASA with a computer wired to your brain, in which case you just think the word "VIDEO" and it will play directly inside of your cerebral cortex, probably.
Jim Sterling serves as reviews editor for Destructoid.com, head of the Podtoid podcast, and produces a number of news stories, original features, one-of-a-kind videos. With his passionate argumentative style, controversial opinions, harsh delivery, and dedication to brutal honesty Sterling is a name that you can't help but recognize.

I think these videos could use a bit more character in them. I'm not sure that voice over, on it's own, is really enough to create a mold a compelling character. Yes, we can tell that the narrator of the video, the "Jim Sterling" character, is a representation of both internet wit while also an attack on those who claim to understand actual video game history. That much is clear, but I found myself wanting to see a day in the life of a person who actually talked and interacted with people as he did in his video. Maybe, going forward, you can try to make "Jim" a specific character. Bring him on screen! Let us see him emote and interact with the audience by looking at them! Voice Acting simply isn't sufficient here.
Unless, of course, you're just being silly. In which case....you're just being silly.
I think it's pretty obvious that it's called Street Fighter 2 because there are '2' people who fight at the same time as each other when they fight each other.
Quick note: Sometimes your character sounds TOO elegant and capable with words. Your intellect is shining through your parody and making it that much more obvious! Danger, man. Freakin' danger!
Seriously, this keeps getting better and better. I hate this so much, but I love it at the same time. I'm really curious about these thoughts and feelings... I DONT UNDERSTAND MYSELF!
Anyhow, seriously, the constant changing of the title of the game made me laugh so hard. THANK YOU! Keep making these ridiculous videos.
At first I thought this was stupid, but I have to admit you got me for some laughs. Hey Arnold, and playing against the computer and my brother = gold.
Jim, you are biased: You know that Super Mario Brothers is blatantly better, because in Super Sonic Dude, you play as a sheep that raids tombs with his pokeballs and fights bad guys with guns, which are obviously better than bare fists.
Street Fighter II was actually the second game in the series, but it was the first one with blood and everyone knows that a game sucks if it doesn't have blood so the first doesn't count that's why it (the second one not the first one lol) was called Street Fighter: First Blood Part II.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Great Job Jim you seem to take everything that's bad about internet communities and give them a comedic spin

Also, was Blanka brain dead at the end?
Loved the closing theme.
Amazing job, Jim.
The New Batch.

OMFG, hilarious. Seriously.
The part with "the computer and my brother" was also quite good.
Well done Jim Sterling. <--I seriously wasn't trying to make it sound like I was going to cannibalize you.
Good stuff Jimmels!
George Lucasarts...
that's a game I'd like to play.
Love it.
Also, that postmodern David Blaine.
But still... thanks for the effort, Jim :)
Your rapier wit is noted, man. Hilarious observation.
And WHAT'S THE DEAL with women and shoes!? What, are you starting a cross-dressing army? Am I right, fellas?
The endings in this series are great. Do Starfox next! Hilarity will ensue!
"It's more fun than a Barrel Roll! of monkeys!... or foxes."
And that definitely hasn't been reached, oh no.
