Why are you even reporting this? All it does is help advertise the Sun, Dtoid is based in San Fransico so most of us that don't live in the U.K didn't even know the Sun existed until you started talking about them.
Very little.
DVT isn't necessarily caused by immobilisation. It can be caused by several different factors, including being overweight. Also, having looking into this guys gamertag - it's clear that he didn't play Halo constantly, and most of the games that he has played were not completed, which doesn't support the concept that he spent all day, every day, on his Xbox either.
The title "Death by Xbox" is another scaremongering headline designed to incite ill-feeling towards what an alternative pass time. There are many more deaths in sports, which don't garner the same attention - just this week a small boy in Wales died when a goalpost fell on him during a football game, yet football hasn't been ostracised in any way.
It would be nice to see the media gathering experience and knowledge into gaming before attempting to sensationalise it with misleading headline and half researched 'statistics'. I have been a gamer for over 20 years and I have never suffered ill health or change in my psyche due to playing video games.
What I really find amusing is how The Sun continually demonises gamers yet has links for their own games, including gambling games set up by The Sun, which trade in real life currencies. It's interesting how The Sun turns a blind eye for gaming when they're able to skim off of the top of the proceeds.
