The Strogg are screwed: Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars goes Gold photo

id Software and Activision have announced today that Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars for the PC has gone gold. While Europe and Australia are fortunate enough to get the game on September 28, North American gamers will have to wait until October 2 to defend the Earth from Strogg forces.

The Splash Damage developed QUAKE Wars will be available in both regular edition and Limited Collector's Edition flavors. The Collector's Edition ships with ten collector's cards, and a bonus DVD, complete with concept art and hopefully an explanation as to why QUAKE is capitalized. Because seriously, that makes no sense. Or does it?

Those without the PC to handle this tank of a game, fear not. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars are also in the development by Nerve Damage and Activision Foster City, respectively.

If it actually plays as good as Quake 4, I am IN!

Is that a Pre-Render shot or ingame? I remember seeing a video of this game in motion and it looks bad.

It plays better than Quake 4 and that shot is ingame. It must of been old because the game never looked bad.

I'm a totally retarded when it comes to PCs but I recently acquired a graphics card playing a game of chance. It is an ATI x1650 Pro with 512MB memory. Now is that better or worse than the recommended cards?

Also: Full recommended requirements incase anybody needs to know

Operating System: Windows XP
Processor: CPU Pentium 4 2.4GHz or Athlon64 3000
Video Card: Geforce FX 5700 or Radeon 9600 or higher
CD-ROM: CDRom 52x or DVD Rom 16x
RAM: 512 MB RAM

I have a sneaky feeling this game, while looking fab, is gonna get buried on 360, because preorders for Halo 3 are through the roof already. Next up for popularity after Halo 3 comes Fifa 08. Once Fifa hits home in September, also the same weekend of Halo 3, both these two are gonna rule the U.K/EU charts, IMO.

That will run it just fine, i'm running the beta with a x1600pro 256mb, which is slightly worse than yours.

Seriously, the beta is awesome. There are a few bugs, but that's to be expected in a beta. It's fun as crap, and you'll know what I mean if you've played Wolfenstein: ET. Imagine that, but a hell of a lot more polished, futuristic, better graphics, vehicles, etc.

BLARG, I wish companies would stop releasing the concept art on DVD's for the special editions. Halo 3 is doing the same thing too =(

Give us a book like the World of Warcraft art book!
