Cheesey as can be, but at least it's a positive look at gamer culture. Gamers portrayed as real people with real lives, heaven forbid.
Maybe it's because I play a lot of fighting games, but I think that the series is pretty awful so far.

I saw the first two episodes and time flew bye. Cannot wait for the rest. I will say this is not what i expected but in a good way.

It's not a "OH MAN THESE GUYS R SCRUBZ I CULD BEET THEM" thing. It's just that the whole thing is really, well, cheesy. It makes me wonder what the overall story the team is trying to tell, and if it's going to be anything other than "dad needs to make money by playing video games and simultaneously win the hearts of his family back".
I guess I'm also just a bit confused, as I had expected the series to be more of a parody than anything else, almost something akin to the "Street Fighter: The Later Years" videos that were going around a few years ago. My issue with the series is that it seems to be taking itself seriously, and I just don't get why. I don't feel like it's trying to be funny, and can't see it as a comedy. From the way the characters are treating the story, they seem to be taking it seriously, but I can't take the material seriously, so I can't fit it into the idea of it being a drama, either. It's just kind of stuck in this odd purgatory where I don't know what it is.
But then again, this is all just my opinion. If you like it, enjoy.

In all honesty, I play fighting games for fun now but used to on a smaller tournament level and I gotta say I'm enjoying this so far. I'm just a bit confused on the age of the girl as opposed to the dad. Did they go to school together? If so she looks damn good for her age lol. But ya I look forward to seeing where the series goes.

@cataract you really can't see the story being told? its pretty simple. if you're having trouble with understanding such things may i recommend 2 broke girls teh laugh track alone will help you rest at ease as there is not much thought put in to watching it
i'm glad to see teh GS staff move into this genre i know for alot of ppl it's hard to leave their comfort zone and to see them not only try but nail it is awesome to see

Everything was well produced as well. The only real evidence of the extremely low budget he talks about in the intro is the very limited selection of fight sticks. which is in itself kind of cool.

This is just terrible. Its like made-for-TV terrible. The characters arent believable (why would that hot babysitter hangout with than nerdy oldman?) Everyone else is a racist caricature. And to top all that off, the gameplay demonstrated thus far is bottom-level. The hero whiffed a DP in one of those montages. Protip: If you're making a movie about being good at videogames, hire someone who is good at videogames.
