The DOJO week began with
Ike's Final Smash called Great Aether. You fling an opponent into the air, slice them a few times and then send them flying off of the stage. This is one of the Final Smashes where you have to be right next to your enemy though. Tuesday showed that
Taunts are back and this time, you have three different ones to use during battle. You can also add a short message to your taunts for online matches. Wow, I can't wait to see all the cuss words people use. Yes Nintendo, Friends Codes really work! Wednesday talked about setting your
Handicap level ... awesome.
Thursday was a double update spotlighting Meta Knight. His theme song was revealed and it's a cover of the music from Meta Knight's Revenge (such a good game). I'm not too found of the Jazz spin on it though. The next update was on Meta Knight's Special Moves. He can spin into a Tornado with his up move, become a drill with his side move, up special makes him jump into air while slashing, his down move allows him to teleport. Finally, today's update is really ... interesting. A new mode called Spectator allows anyone to watch Brawl matches as they take place. The interesting part about this is that you can actually bet coins on the matches. If you win, you get the winnings and the more people watching the same battle, the more money you can win. Oh, and you get stickers too.
What did you think of the DOJO week?

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
My thoughts exactly. >_>

this game is unbelievable.
Total win.
Also, it would be kind of nice to at least see the username of the players before the match begins in Spectator, because otherwise it's a total dice roll, unless you're banking on certain characters being inherently better than others.
This isn't something I would complain about if I didn't see it in the game, but it would still be really cool - and possibly confidence boosting or shattering - if there was a number on the UI detailing the amount of people looking in on the current match. It would be cool if this number could then affect the crowd noise during a match (larger crowds are louder) or even cheer for specific players. The (simulated) crowd in Melee could cheer for specific players, and would even gasp in amazement when something crazy happened - and it would be interesting to see the influence actual spectators could have.
...God, that sounds awesome!
Liking the betting though. Now if only they'd get rid of the bloody damn friend code system.
They're really going all out, if this is how much is being revealed the secrets are probably mind-blowing.
Spectator mode omg YES.
Thisis like the feel good version of an xbox game.
did you lose? poor baby, here's a handfull of stickers, a lolly, and a pat on the head. feel better, mkay.
I personally don't think I'll use spectator very much, but it just shows that, except for limited communication and friend codes, online for smash is done right.
Silly Hamza, you should know by now that Nintendo doesn't let you communicate at all with people you don't know. The taunt messages are turned off when playing "With Anyone" over wi-fi.
SHUT UP! YES IT WILL!
Yah I dig the Spectator Mode simply because I want to feed a gambling addiction I havent developed yet, but soon will for the hell of it
"That's a crazy man's bet. The odds of him winning are a million to one."
"Woohoo. I'm going to be rich!"
