The Smash Brothers launch site, debut EP at Magfest photo

The videogame cover band The Smash Brothers have finally launched a slick-looking GameBoy-themed Web site, and along with this launch comes the announcement of a new EP.

Titled Bacon EP, this limited run collection will be launched at Magfest 7, taking place in Alexandria, VA, January 1-4, 2009.  The site has a couple of samples from the EP, including a kickass Castlevania 3, 4, and Actraiser mix called... "Actraiservania." Check them out.

Their "Onett" track from this EP, an Earthbound arrangement, will also be included on the Child's Play CD 2008 charity album we recently told you about.

And speaking of the game and game music convention Magfest 7, it's right around the corner. It's now eight days away. We're going to kick the New Year off right. The management sends word that pre-registration ends some time this week, so if you're considering going, get on that. Also, they add that this pre-registration is required to attend the New Year's Eve party.

We hope to see some of you there!

They couldn't come up with a video game related album title, though? Insert Credit? Level Up? Dodongo Fears Smoke?

What horrible timing. One week later and I could have attended.

Very cool...
I think video game music cover bands are sick.
You should agree.
I mean, we are all video game geeks here...
It's okay to admit it.

@ Superfluous Moniker
If you weren't at MAGFest last year, you won't understand the name of the EP. If you WERE at MAGFest last year and still don't get it, something is very wrong with you.
