OOOOOLD I PLAYED IT ON THE PS3 EARLY THIS WEEK! HATE HATE
I loved the demo, it was lots of fun! In fact, this just might be the game of the year for me. And it ran very well on the PC, with sweet constant 60 fps. Totally buying it on PC when I can.

I love Sleeping Dogs. It is quite an achievement, even if it was influenced a lot by other games.
But there is 1 thing about the game that I HATE. On 360 at least, there is no way to stop the camera from auto-centering behind you while driving. It doesn't just auto-center, it fights with you aggressively if you ever try to rotate the camera around while driving. I've been looking behind me once I get on a bike, then once I hit the gas the camera literally spun around me 2 full times, trying to get behind me. I can do nothing to stop this in the options.
I don't mind the super powerful braking system on cars, that can stop you going 100mph to 0 in .5 seconds. But this camera issue is total balls.

Yup, bought it yesterday, it's a really great game. My only worry is that i'll finish the main story and end up wanting more. the gameplay really is worthy of a 30+ hour campaign like gta4 and rdr have.
Just beat the game last night. Awe-inspiring game. If I were to recommend it, surely it would be in highest regards.
Just tried the demo, and I like the design of the game world, but the controls bug me. Combat feels like an inferior version of the combat in the Arkham games (although the light strike/heavy strike thing is neat), and the gunplay is just sloppy, forcing you to pop up from cover in order to see where you are shooting, which is awkward and frustrating. I'm probably gonna pass.
The worst part of this game is how it allows you to date Emma Stone, but only for two missions, after which she is never seen or mentioned again.

One thing I will say about Sleeping Dogs combat: Let them come to you. Don't treat it like Darksiders, charging into battle swinging at anything that moves. Stand still and let them approach you, then press Y (on 360) when a guy nearby turns red. Beat him down, but only very briefly, because another guy nearby will turn red.

Gotta hand it to the devs, I've been hearing from friends and the interwebs(!) that this game is a top notch PC port but now a demo release too? It's like 2004 all over again!

It should be mentioned that if youre on xbox you MUST have xbox live gold to download. it's shitty, i know, but if you don't have gold the download won't show up at all
sleeping dogs killed my fat 60gb ps3. the day after i played it for about 10 hours, my ps3 dies the next day when i tried to turn it on.
i never had any issues with my ps3 ever. and only my old 360 was the first failed console i ever had that died.
now it freezes when the OS loads and then beeps and blinking red light :( ill have to see if safemode fixes it.
if not looks like its time for a slim ps3. only thing that sucks is i cant watch my movies on it till its fixed
