The Sims 3 gets ambitious with new expansion pack photo

Electronic Arts has announced a new expansion pack for the popular The Sims 3, called The Sims 3 Ambitions Expansion pack.

As the name might imply, the expansion adds a slew of new career paths, including a ghost hunter, inventor, sculptor, and private investigator. Best of all, players will be able to follow their Sims to their jobs, giving them direct control over what they do (or don't do) at work.

Some of the career additions will actually impact your entire neighborhood, as well. For example, choosing to be an architecht, you can shape the look of the game's landscape. Or if you choose to be a stylist, turning your entire neighborhood into a fashion nightmare. Our own Rey Gutierrez will also be pleased to learn that Ambitions features a new tattoo system.

The expansion will be available for PC and Mac, and will ship this June. iPhone gamers won't be left out in the cold -- there will be a version coming to the mobile platform as well.

Well the girlfriend will be pleased to hear this.

I'd play if the Buffalo Bill killer was a career path.

This actually sounds pretty awesome. All the other sims 3 expansions were just for stuff to put in your house, or the ones I saw were like that anyway. Being an architect would be pretty sweet then, myeah im excited now myeah (evil laugh)

Whoo? I'm not one for the Sims only on the account that the game shipped empty to only have expansions fill up that content... and I want a re-release of Streets of Sim City... Now.

@Suigyoken,

Actually the game shipped with quite a bit of content. That's kind of a lame reason to not buy a game. That's a good reason to not buy expansion packs, but a lame one to not buy a full game.

Pointless. Make expansions of the stuff you cut from Sims 2 already.

Wow, I remember when the sims 3 first came out, when I played it I was disappointed for some reason... I don't know what it was that disappointed me though. This sounds really fun,perhaps I will have to give it another go :)

Sims are so addictive. When I'll get to this expansion, I would literally glue myself to the monitor. Such a bummer I got so muchcollege essays

This sounds quite interesting! The Sims has always lacked an interesting and detailed career system. I'll definitely play this!
