We've already seen Bart and Homer's take on World War II video games in The Simpsons: Medal of Homer, so now let's see what the female half of the family can do to parody Grand Theft Auto.
Eh, while it's not as good as the Medal of Homer trailer, Marge and Lisa's romp around the bad side of Springfield still looks to be fun. The Simpsons: Grand Theft Scratchy trailer has the girls putting the smack down on various enemies (thugs) while throwing out silly one-liners like "It's cappin' ass-poppin' time" and "I gotta buy my baby mama an Escalade."
Do we like this?
Will gamers dig this video game about other video games? Probably -- the Simpsons have always been about poking fun at everything else, so it's about time they did it to video games. Hopefully it will turn out well. We'll know for sure when The Simpsons Game launches for almost all consoles later this fall.
As long as those one liners don't get to repetitive I think they're a perfect satire of how videogames represent black culture. The little bow wow is just bow wow now (say that five times fast).
Every Simpsons game I've seen looks more like some generic platform / shooter which has been "skinned" with Simpsons characters. This one is no different. It looks like the cartoon but the actual gameplay makes no sense. When are we going to see a proper Simpsons game - an adventure game or sandbox where you're firmly grounded in Springfield, and playing out what is essentially and extended episode?
That made me laugh. I like how they're making parodies of multiple video games. It's a Simpsons game so it's hard to call it, but maybe it'll be decent.
Liars. Everyone's gonna get this game. It's just like the show. Everyone talks crap about it, but then everyone tunes in on Sundays and buys the DVDs. The internets are trying too hard not to care. Whatevs. I'm so getting this. And no, I'm not a Simpsons fanboy.
"i broke my fist on your face" i like that line. why dont they just make a virtual Springfield (think they did it on the pc awhile ago) where you make your own simpsonite and you get to go around and interact with the town and characters.
Medal of Homer trailer was better, but it was more of an actual "trailer." This was just an example of some gameplay, and it did look pretty repetitive. Would be nice to see more, but I'll probably still pick it up. It looks like the old simpsons kick some but arcade game, if you could play it with 2-4 people on co-op I think it would be cooler but I don't think they are doing that in this one.
The official Need for Speed Facebook account has posted a teaser image for a new game, as shown above. It's getting to be about that time -- it is, after all, a new year.
