We've already seen Wolfenstein and Medal of Honor spoofed, but it's not just war games that come under the lampooning eye of The Simpsons Game. The Simpsons, set to parody a variety of famous and well-known titles, shares its take on Everquest in this latest trailer, imaginatively titled Neverquest.
It's looking quite decent so far, with a great visual quality that matches The Simpson's style, much like Hit & Run did. Of course, until we get some hands-on time with it, we can only speculate whether or not this will be one of the rare successes or all-too-common failures in The Simpsons' history of videogame licenses.
How successful do you think The Simpsons Game will be? Use that comment box to let us know, damn you.
Yeah, you don't notice that much in 2D animation, but in 3D animation it really stands out. The pupils/eyes look really unnatural, and some animations look rather odd as well..
Parody in name only but the gameplay parody is on Gauntlet,Joust,etc...and Homer's clothes are a parody of Link's.
Shadow Knight Bart would be cooler since Marge's clothes follows that certain WoW/everquest episode.
I was all for this when I saw the posters from the original press conference and the first videos of gameplay. It looks like a whole lot of fun and the video game parodies make it that much better. I preordered it and can't wait to pick it up.
Man, everyone's heralding this game as the second coming, and all I see and hear are corny lame jokes that only the mentally retarded would be proud of.
I think you guys are living on your old memories a little too much, back when the writers weren't rookies that just took the job in order to practice.
@Wedge:
It's all one game, with different 'chapters' that each parody a different game/genre of games.
Every time I see a new trailer for this, I get more excited. I mean, I'm not expecting it to be the next big thing, but it will for sure be a solid title worth playing through.
I’m getting more and more excited for this game as they reveal more and more of it. I’m not gonna lie, I actually liked Hit and Run for the PS2 (at the very least, it was loads better than Road Rage), and this game looks like it could be really great, especially because there’s a legitimate concept behind it. I’ve heard that the controls aren’t that tight, but they can fix that...right?
Ya know, I just thought of an easy solution to the "lifeless eyes" problem. Make them move. They look weird because nobody actually stares in one direction (unless they're crazy, but that's another can of worms)
@virus2566: Yeah, but it must be infinitely easier to program non-moving eyes instead of programming eyes that move. Also, I think I’d rather have motionless eyes as opposed to eyes that moved, but not in the correct way (ex: character’s moving one way, eyes are looking in a different direction).
