According to Major Nelson's blog (which lives and breathes on its own, and will someday take over the world) is reporting that a demo for Electronic Arts' The Simpsons Game has hit Xbox Live. This appears to be the same demo that hit the PlayStation Network last week, and weighs in at 442.71 MB.
Last week, I spent a bit of time with the PlayStation 3 demo, which gives you control of both Bart and the ever-so-lovable Homer. You can switch between the two on the fly, and you use each of their unique abilities to try to best the Lard Lad statue, which has come to life and is wreaking havok upon Springfield.
While I can't say I necessarily had fun (and I'm reserving judgment for after I've played more of the game), I was impressed by how well the game nailed the show's trademark humor. Even more impressive, was the fact that there seemed to be quite a bit of voice work packed into the demo; I rarely heard the same thing twice.
The Simpsons Game comes to the Xbox 360 October 30.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
lame.
I want them to use this graphics engine and character models to remake the arcade game. That would be awesome-o.
And yea I'll admit the camera needs some work, hopefully they address that in the actual version, if they don't it'll hold it back but I'm still getting it.
Else, despite the simpsons humour, there are too many good things coming out to worry about this game.
I wouldn't buy it.
This game wants to be an easy as pie 2d brawler, but they artificially lengthen the action with the old puzzle sequence boss. Going around trying to hit lard lad, you can't aim at the fucking guy because the camera stops when it's near a wall. I got past the first panel in his armo and just put the game down because I've got better things to do.
Simpsons hit and run was excellent, if any of you haven't played it, pick it up.
Plus the limit is 250 megs, the demo is half a gig.

The cuscene blew tremendously as well. It looked like it was done in flash with plenty of helpings of tween. Then once they were done they removed half the frames to get jerky poor imitation of the movie (Which had tween in it at least once. If you look at Apu in the intro). Still, as far as animation quality goes, 4/10.
I hardly see how shoving video game references makes them think gamers will like it.
It's pretty funny actually. The Simpsons arcade game was just the Turtles arcade game with the Simpsons in it and that was awesome but then so were the turtles games.
I'm too tired to write well.
