I won't lie to you -- I can only describe Otronicon as a low-key affair when it comes to the world of gaming, but that doesn't mean that the Dtoid crew didn't have some fun running around its hallways. On our first day there, we checked out the retro arcade lounge, the Apple exhibit (there were wicked retro computers there to see), and rocked out with Rock Band on one of the coolest stages I've ever had the pleasure of standing on.
Later today we will be attending a very special event the con is hosting -- a Halo themed wedding. If I had to wager on it, I'd say that seeing the Destructoid robot in attendance is probably the last thing they're expecting on their wedding day. We'll have more on that for you coming soon!

But in all seriousness, it was pretty small, but it was still entertaining for a few hours. Wish I could be there to see the wedding/the robot.
And I got pissed at the flash for going off too. Haha.
The event was a pretty entertaining for a while, but meeting Colette, Niero, and Rey made the day for me (fat kid, long hair, green jacket, and a yellow Gojira {Godzilla?} shirt.

Also, as much as I like the RB stage this year, I kinda wish they kept the mirror that was suspended over the drummer from last year. Meh.

The "Machinama Festival" just played lame YouTube films that are popular for a week at best. The game stations were killed down. The game competitions were poorly organized. Where was the cosplay contests from last year? It's not my kind of thing, but it was cool.
The only part of Otronicon that was good this year was the Atronica exhibit. It's like they felt a Halo-themed wedding would carry the event.
