My combat experience for the first several hours of the game was "1 1 1 1 1 2, 1 1 1 1 1 2, 1 1 1 1 1 2". I'm sure it gets more complex/varied towards the endgame, but it didn't exactly make me want to drop $50 to buy it.

The Secret World early access begins today
Funcom sends word that the early access pre-launch period for upcoming MMO The Secret World begins today. The game's official launch goes down on July 3, but existing pre-order customers will get to get in early, starting right now. It's not too late, though: simply head over to the official site, put in your pre-order and get your early access. Through preview events I've become quite excited about The Secret World. I love its modern-day setting and ties to mythology, fairy tales and pop culture. I grew tired of the standard MMO a long time ago, so this game is like a breath of fresh air. I'm in. Are you? Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I played the beta. It's okay, but overall I was fairly underwhelmed. The skill system is cool, but nothing else about it particularly clicked with me.

A lot of your enjoyment of this game will come from how much you are willing to explore the world. Just FYI. @MrShine and others... I feel the same way about it. I followed this game for a couple years now, begging to play it. Finally got beta weekend access and now I'm just so over with this game. It's a huge shame too, the mythos and setting behind it are quite stellar in my opinion. I'll be playing at some point tonight. I like everything about it apart from the lackluster combat, but I can't think of many MMOs that actually have engaging battles. I got into the TSW Beta this past weekend - yup, I was NOT impressed w/ the gameplay AT ALL. Feels like typical MMO and ARPG questing - which is the MAJOR problem w/ this game. And this all is a major shame, given that the writing, dialogue, and voice-acting was VERY good. Probably didn't help that after the interesting beginning "Initiation" stuff, I got into a Zombie-Infested area...after recently playing Dead Island: Ryder White DLC. Yeah, they wasted a really great concept on a shitty engine and low-complexity meta-game. Letting people spec out their "own" class will just lead to everyone speccing cookie-cutter specs in a simplistic system... Pointless. It's a really great idea for a game too, it's damn crying shame. I wanted to play this game for years until I was let down by the actual game. 6:00 AM on 05.24.2013 Tetris Blitz now out, free for iOS and AndroidTetris Blitz is now available on iOS and Android for free.
