The Rock Band 2 SE bundle for $99? Consider it done photo

From now until January 1, you can get down with your economically conscious self thanks to a deal from Harmonix. Valid at most retailers where you would normally buy videogames from, the Rock Band 2 Special Edition bundle for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has temporarily dropped down to a slim $99.

Whether you want to get a Christmas present for a distant relative as the family's one true responsible gamer (Petz? Puh-leeze), or you just plain need to upgrade your music game peripheral collection to the Rock Band 2 standard, it's a mighty fine deal to be had.

The header picture? Oh, it's relevant. I'm not going to explain how it's relevant, but believe me when I say that it surely is.

Sweet deal, but my economically *ahem* "conscious" self still doesn't care much for those clicky-button Rock Band guitar controllers. Not for me, but pretty awesome for everyone else, I suppose.

So, go to Walmart, buy 360 arcade for $200, use the $100 coupon on Rock Band 2 = pure friggin win.

This is great to know, thanks! After doing Amazon's $80 spent/$40 credit deal, I noticed this was the current price - but I just thought it was a temporary special Amazon was running. Great to know I have time to decide between this and something else!

Damn, I've needed to upgrade my drums for awhile now... This might just be my best opportunity until I can afford the ION kit.

As much as I long for Rock Band again, I can't say that I'd be able to spring for the whole set right now given that I live on the second floor of a three floor building. If I did fall back into it, I think I'd just snag a guitar and a cheap copy of the game.

Has there ever been a time when Dr. Doom wasn't relevant?

Welcome to Canada, circa July 2009. Best Buy and Futureshop were both clearing out RB2 bundles for a c-note over the summer.

Just glancing at the headline then seeing the picture led me to think MF DOOM was releasing a rockband DLC. Then i read the article and quickly realized that that was not what was happening at all.

BOO to reading

And since it's Walmart, return the 360 for a full refund. ^_^

Hmm... I wonder if this is US only or not. I wouldn't mind upgrading my RB stuff, and might be able to afford it.

The UK will NEVER see this kind of price cut.
Far as i've seen you can buy the game on it's own, but not the instruments...

...what about people that bought RB2 individually? That's why I never really jumped on these deals as I already own the game and don't need two copies.

Plus it'd be troublesome to find a spot in my room for the drum kit unless I can lower/raise the pads and stash them somewhere.
