I don't like that my shiny new metal special edition game is rendered obsolete nearly six months after release by something that could have been a DLC expansion (as I've said before, if DA: Awakening can be a DLC expansion, Marvel 3 can do it): but you gotta do what you gotta do to play with your friends, you know?
But while I will not rule out the possibility, with the way Capcom has been handling itself as of late I have no plans for the foreseeable future that include anything they publish.
That answer your question?
But posessing none of the version, I'm more likely to buy the ultimate version when it hits the used game bin or the older version that will be found a lot in the used market after the release of ultimate marvel vs capcom 3.
I still think that it's alienating their players to release a game like this so quickly after the release of the 1st iteration.
I don't like most of the new characters, I'm not really digging the new stages and I'm not thrilled with the new hud. But the prospect of MvsC3 getting balanced, actually balanced, is a proposition I'm willing to pay for. The game is amazingly fun, but horribly broken. When this kind of rant: http://youtu.be/DavIZkGfEF0 is pretty much 100% correct, you know your game has problems, and from what few gameplay videos have come out, it looks like they're making the right changes.
"I don't like most of the new characters, I'm not really digging the new stages and I'm not thrilled with the new hud. But the prospect of MvsC3 getting balanced, actually balanced, is a proposition I'm willing to pay for."
So what you're saying is that you're going to pay full price for something that normally would be a free patch?
Long story short, I got my money's worth out of MvC 3 Vanilla. My collector's edition isn't 'obsolete', because let's face it, there's nothing "collector's" about special edition video game packages these days. I got a lot of fun and a lot of hours out of the first one, so I'm not the least bit upset that a new version is on it's way with more content. Bring on November, I need to get my Strider on.
Isn't this then perfectly reasonable?
Screw it, what do I know, I just read all the articles here.
"I'm not the least it bitter about this, nor anything else Capcom's done lately."
I realise not everyone is a MML fan, but you've got to agree they handled that quite bad.
And if that still isn't clear;
NOPE
Not because of some high&mighty/superiority/moral complex, but because everything about how Crapcom™ handled Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and now, Ultimate Mortal--Marvel, rather--versus Capcom 3 has been utter shit and disgusting.
These same people will complain Nintendo doesn't come out with a follow up to Super Smash Bros fast enough...
I'll probably buy even though I have the first
I didn't buy MvC3 so they could divide the online community only nine months later. I'm sure as hell not getting UMvC3 so they can bring out a second re-release of MvC3 that would divide the community again.
Considering Capcom has only ever balanced patched 1 game in their near 30 year history of fighting games(SSF4:AE and they did a terrible job), I think that's a moot point.
I mean normally, I would be upset, but Marvel 3 is just...really really fun, even though it's horribly unbalanced. I want that fun to continue. I mean, the first thing they need to do is rebalanced EVERY CHARACTER. The second thing they need to do is fix the netcode. If they can do those two things so the game works as well as BlazBlue:CS (fucking odd that I have to say that...) then It's worth the 40 dollars.
I just wish they did it right the first god damn time. I'm not happy about all this mind you. But I'm willing to go in on it.
It's been true this whole time, but I love that you've made the ridiculousness here obvious. One of the main arguments for PURCHASING A PRODUCT is because "bitter fans needing to get over themselves." Like I said in the other thread, I won't be buying it. On one hand you guys are making fun of us because "you know you can just not buy the game!" while on the other you're arguing that we -should- buy it.. I don't know.. just because? Because bitter fans need to get over themselves? What?
Here's a crazy idea: if a game doesn't have what I want, I won't buy it.
why do these fighting games get so many versions released so close to eachother? crazy.
I think if I was still a competitive fighter I'd be mad at Capcom for their rapid release of new versions. Imagine if other competitive games were like this!
I know Capcom is punching me in the face, but what can a fan do? I'll sell the standard version any time soon :/
So the game will cost me 100 zł.
Each DLC character would cost 400 MS points. 14(I haven't bought Jill and Shuma)* 400 = 5600. A 4200 point card costs 250 zł at retail (I don't have a credit card). Basic math tells me this is the more affordable way.
In USD: 12 (or 14) * 5 = 60$ (or 70 $). The game costs 40. Your call
