Why all the hate for MLP?
It's a fun show with great characters.

The sad thing about MLP is that were it not for the constant spamming of it everywhere by a fanbase that makes the Sonic fanbase look sane, I'd probably have sat down and watched the show, and probably even have liked it.
But there's just something about the "Bronies" that makes me want absolutely nothing to do with them or their show. It's nothing inherently personal - you all just creep me out and I have more than enough other things to spend my time on.

You know, I don't really expect a lot of people to get the whole MLP thing, I checked it out and now I'm most definitely a brony, but I can see why it may be weird to some. I just wish people would hate a little less and just ignore it if they aren't interested.

I don't hate the show, but boy I hate the part of fanbase that wants to turn every human into a pony thinking that will solve all of life's problems.

That's where the problem arises, there are all sorts of fandoms out there, and members of it are going to be excited about it and create their own fan material, whether it be art, mods, music, whatever. This is not specific to any one thing.
The problem your facing is that this fandom is particularly large and there is a lot of material posted from it. People choose to share it with the public, again not specific to any one fan following.
Lets say someone didn't like pokemon. Do you know how much random crap people make based off of that? Or Starwars. Or Skyrim. Or anything.
Point being, fans are going to behave like fans, whether you like what they like or not.

If it's something like this, where Jonathan Holmes just posts it because he thinks it's cute and funny and whatnot, I see no reason why people should go all like URGH NOT PONIES AGAIN HATE HATE HATE KILL ALL THE TECHNICOLORS.
Again, I'm very aware that the most vocal and visible part of this fandom are those people who are crazy about it and try to shove it down other people's throats, and deride them for not liking the show. The problem is that that kind of people exist in EVERY fandom. The only thing different about MLP is that it's rather big, it's become somewhat mainstream, and above all, it's become Cool On The Internet to hate it.
