The Podcastle records tonight: Shove it up your arse photo

At 8pm BST, I shall once again be throwing open the drawbridge and inviting the sublime duo of Wardrox and Atheistium into my humble abode. There, we shall talk of many things, and around 20% of them will be videogame related. Probably.

Another two weeks has passed, which means The Podcastle is back in business. I don't actually know what we're talking about this week because we could not be bothered to sort that out. It's a mystery show! Not that it matters, even when we do pick a topic, we rarely stick to the point. 

Help bail us out by posting all sorts of questions and potential discussions in this here article thread. You'll be doing the world a service.

Here's one: Warren "Internet Jaysis" Ellis is almost a viral selling point for "Dead Space", even though, according to himself, his involvement was limited, and at the very beginning of development. My question is this: why has the games industry not gravitated more towards known writers for at least consulting, if not a full-blown development of one of their properties?

I mean, who wouldn't want to see "Warren Ellis' ARSE EELS: REQUIEM"? I would! Would you?

Since Fable 2 went gold recently, my questions ire these: Do you think Molyneux has actually made a game in which he will deliver the more important things he has already promised? Do you guys care about Fable 2 at all? What were your thoughts on the first game, disregarding what it was supposed to be?

My two favourite editors on Dtoid are Rev and Jim - tied for first, closely followed by Linde and the late World Famous (naturally). But I think Rev is deliberately being a meanie to me for some reason. He's not answering my questions on Podtoid at the moment. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm asking you to fight for your listeners affections or anything, really. I just thought I'd let you know.

Anyway, who are your favourite people on Destructoid? Any cop-outs to this question will be treated with a magma IV drip.

Also, I'll repeat the question I asked in Podtoid, because it surely is the greatest question ever. If games could come with tasty treats or little nibbles in a bag, what delicious munchies would complement each individual game? Show your working.

What is it about female gamers that makes them gravitate towards games that simulate reality? I've seen as much with the sims and just recently Harvest Moon for the DS. It's mind-boggling.

I just bought a XBOX recently just to play Lost Odyssey and I can say so far its been worth every cent. Quite possibly the most intriguing JRPG I've played in a while.

I've been playing lost odyssey and really enjoying it for the simple reason that it seems to be about the only game in a while that actually seems to have a plot. yes it may be melodramatic and japanese and weird but its still a coherant piece, at least looking at it 8 hours in. Are there any games you've played recently that actually made you sit up and think 'hey this story isn't half bad, I don't want to smash my face into a wall rather than watch another cutscene'?

You Euro-gamers always complain (and rightfully so) about getting games and stuff really late when its from Japan or the USA, but Id like to hear your take on the fact that Canadian gamers sometimes fall to the same fate as you fellow Queen worshippers. My question is who would win in a fight? Jim Sterling or Ben Croshaw?
The fight can be in two stages; first a battle of words and wits, fought on a hastily built stage in a crowded town square. The opponents will exchange insults until one of them is left crying on the floor in a shameful mess.

Once the battle of words is decided the second stage of the battle can begin, where the two opponents will simply beat the shit out of eachother on top of a double decker bus.
If there is no clear winner, weapons will be provided to speed things along a bit.

The winner will be crowned surly british cunt of the year.

Not topical, but never mind...

I love all things Metal Gear and am a huge fan of the series. However I think that MGS4 was utter bollocks - mainly because the storyline and cutscenes were vastly inferior to those of its predecessors (in part due to their change in format and "westernization"). Why have I never come across anyone who shares this view? - Do you know anyone who thinks MGS4 ruined the series?
