Episode four of The Podcastle will be recording Sunday afternoon and will feature yours truly, along with able bodied and strong-thighed cohorts in Wardrox (don't read his blog) and Atheistium (hates Mario). This week, we will be spending our discussion half of the show isolating and studying the much-despised delays that European versions of videogames get afflicted with.
One of the most common and irritating examples of the European market getting the shaft, obnoxious videogame delays are a blight and need to be fought with plenty of swearing and abuse of Wardrox, because it's partly his fault. I heard Nintendo often delays games just because they don't like the idea that Wardrox might play them.

Question B) It's not only release dates we get shafted on, it's also price. Why the fuck is this happening? Is it because they know people in Europe/Australasia will pay more? Or are they just being fucking retarded and hurting their sales? Surely the PS3 will get a nice lead over the 360 in England if they set their price to the same as it is in the US.

I know a ton of euro games, all of which speak fine english, while itself selfish on the one hand forcing them to use a non native word - would it be worth it if it helped with the delays.

Do you know of games that have benefited by being held back to be released in Europe? I seem to remember that we had the better version of Sega Rally when it came out on the Sega Saturn (compared to the US folks).
And which games would you rather have wanted to be held back forever for being so crap, but got a release in Europe anyway?
And then developers/publishers wonder why we import or pirate games.
Who do you think the worst offenders are when it comes to giving Europe the shaft? Nintendo are obviously one of the more prolific offenders, but I'd be interested in what the Podcastle thinks?
Also, Wardrox, what have you been playing on your shiney new PS3? Happy with it?
I have a question: why can't Nintendo do it while pretty much every 360 and PS3 game comes out at the same time as the US retail date? Some games come out earlier here, some come out later, but the big titles are always fast.

Here's my question, and I expect it to be treated with much seriousness. Have you ever had to defend your Podcastle from attack from the other blog sites? Like, they try to ram down the gate to your Podcastle and storm it in an effort to overthrow you?
My mental image of that scenario is awesome...
