The Podcastle episode 24: Mirror's Edge is rubbish photo

Good morrow, fair maidens and noble gentlemen, and rejoice! The Podcastle is once again ready for your ears to enjoy, as the usual crew is joined by a super special guest ... even though he's not really that special. Community member The Ghost was hanging out at Wardrox's house, so we let him tag along for the ride.

This episode was supposed to be an anniversary special AND a controversial episode, but we kind of forgot to do both, because we complete prannets. Nevertheless, it was a pretty good show, even though I've got some sort of crazy illness that we've worked out is the result of jet lag and my immune system getting to grips with American germs. Not very fun, but I think we got away with it on the podcast. Highlights include:

  • Laughing at Destructoid Forum nonsense
  • Why Sonic Unleashed is rubbish
  • Why Mirror's Edge is rubbish
  • Why Fallout 3 is rubbish
  • Some off-color jokes about Baby P
  • Some on-color swearing
  • And then the show ends

Am I the only one that really loved Mirror's Edge, even with its faults? No matter how many times I fucked up a complex jump or something I wanted to do it again.

Okay, she didn't like Dead Space or Fallout 3. Then said Dead Space was boring, yet enjoyed Assassins Creed; the most boring and repetitive game I've ever played. Also, she likes Mirrors Edge... yeah.

Fallout 3 may have been short (compared to Oblivion. after 50 hours I'm basically done with it) but I wouldn't call it rubbish.

@worldeater Dead space is like any other shooter but with the same enemy over and over. Kind of boring don't you think? I've played too many decent survival horror games for this one to compare.

Again as I said in the podcastle. I like running and jumping and exploring games. AC and ME both did these VERY well. Extremely well.

I didn't like Oblivion either so it explains why I have Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 isn't rubbish, but Bethesda is manky rubbish! For not bringing FO3 DLC goodies [and *ahem trophies*]to the PS3. For shame, for shame. May Bethesda suffer from extended bouts of explosive diarrhea whilst shopping for their mothers' Xmas gifts in a packed mall! Bethesda, Maryland, too! And any girl named "Bethesda".

Okay Dead space didn't really do anything new, but its still a well done game. And not ALL of the enemies are the same. Its like the only slightly scary game I've played on the 360, so I enjoyed it. I still enjoy games were you are running and jumping, like I'm playing a lot of PoP lately. Also, I loved Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3... Different tastes, I guess.
