The Podcastle episode 06: Best of Europe photo

The usual crew of Jim Sterling, Atheistium and Wardrox has its forces bolstered by community member Dan Gale to discuss their favorite games home grown in the European territories. From Dungeon Keeper to Worms, The Podcastle is alive with the sound of Eurogaming celebration. Top stuff, our kid.

As you will soon hear, we had a rather huge error in this recording that led to us losing practically the entire first half of the show. We had two Northerners on the show, so it may have been stolen. What you will hear is a cobbled together first part, expertly crafted by Wardrox.

Also, we have attempted some stylistic tweaks for this episode. The show should feel somewhat different, but it's up to you, the listener, to let us know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. As ever, you can listen right away on our Podcastle page, so go do it. Love you.

Haven't had a listen yet, but I was wondering if you'd ever do a show on British gaming TV like Gamesmaster and Bad Influence? Top quality shite.

I think we should celebrate our Britishness with a round of Worms tonight.

@Holyetheline.... were we nude?

@Reaprar, duly noted. So would you say no music, or different music?

Downloading now. I know you keep getting this from me and Sharpless, but is there any word on iTunes? I heard somewhere that once you had 5 episodes recorded, you could put your stuff on there...

Ok, Podcasle 6 will be the first and last Podcastle to have music in! Sorry.

I may make a Podcastle 6.1 with no music/montage/intro-skit.... or I might be lazy. Who knows?

"took it to a whole new level with PlayStation graphics"?

Argh, I cannot accept that someone that loves Tomb Raider that much, doesn't at least know that the game was to be an exclusive title for the Sega Saturn and was built around that platform capabilities.

Drop yer pants Lauren, it's spanky time!

Of course the music was distracting, you choose the worst music to play behind the talking, what the hell is it? F1 cars? Mosquitoes?

Oh, Jim, the games wasn't actually based on the TV series since they both were released at the same time. Marketing or whoring, your call. ;)

Wardrox, I love the Spaced reference at the beginning!
Shame about the missing first half, though you guys tend to waffle on far too much at the opening.
Juicy man love for you all anyway!

So wait, if this is the best of Europe, do we have nothing to look forward to ever again from Podcastle? :P

Also, I haven't listened to it yet, but I generally like having music included on the podcasts I listen to, since it makes it sound a little more lively. However, I could see it getting distracting if you pick bad music or play it too loud.

Well, I'll be damned. I tried it earlier and I got nothing, but I drag-and-dropped the link into iTunes and, by jove, I think I've got it.

Props to Wardrox for standing up for Space Giraffe, first time I've ever heard that on this site. I think Jeff Minter is a bit of a wacko as well, but damn if he didn't make a fun and pretty unique game.

Anyway, aside from the drum and bass in the background that made it sound like you were broadcasting from a rave, another great episode.
