Quantcast

You can't push American commercials on the British people. It does not make sense. Europeans have a different way about them, different tastes and sensibilities. For this reason, the ads we saw for the PS3 in the US simply won't do. Curiously, it was decided that nothing truly describes the power of the PS3 to Europeans like brightly dressed women in a warehouse quickly stacking plastic cups. Genius. We can't wait for the tandem hopscotch sequel to surely follow.

I made a comment about this yesterday but this commercial proves that the cell technology can only amount to memorizing ONE pattern and repeating it over and over until it can be done very quickly...

@ Blindside : Hence the euphoria engine. (IE : Nothing in the game like glass, wood, kittens, will never break the same way twice)

Brightly dressed? They're wearing like brown and grey.
Either way they should lose the shirts all together.

And yes, I could also go for a good clown show. A topless clown show.

I'm in Europe even next to Britain, this just don't do it for me, too long, nothing being said and that music.

Rather give me something like David Lynch's Welcome to the third place ps2 commercial

I'm also from Europe, never seen that strange sport (Cup stacking) ... but who knows, Britsh are strange people.

This is just marketing, no one understand the commercial --> everybody talks about it.

Im English and never knew of the "sport" decent advert though, I prefer it to the just plain weird American ones.

odder than the ps3 using this to advertise, is that there is a company out there that will sell you competition quality cups and a matt to stack them on. you can even choose your cup color. sweet.

Well, I saw the person doing this in what I believe was her first TV appearance, and i thought it was very tallented at the time. When you see it full speed that is, in real time, not slowed down.

And, with all seriousness in mind, I actually like this ad. And yes, i live in the UK. There's no way in hell i'm buying a PS3, least of all just because of this advert, and i'm no closer to buying one than i was before. But one thing i do respect is that this advert has some fun to it, aside from the tallent, it is all psychologically gearer towards implying fun. As opposed to satan baby, which is just geared towards getting the hype going.

Y'know, that baby probably has feelings, and every time we take the piss, we're scarring it. You should think about that...

So there you have it. My opinion. I've been waiting for this topic for days, btw. You took your time destructoid.
