Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we've seen all of the others in one form or another, but still. I think there are more than enough fans out here in the west to not only support these, but remakes or reissues of the first two non-PS2 Devil Summoner games as well.
I suddenly have an urge to finally open up that Rosetta Stone Japanese that's been collecting dust.
the grand grand daddy is simply megami tensei. The nes title
The snes titles came later, and were ported to the gba
Is Nocturne really so good? I played a little bit of it a few years ago, but gave after about 2 or 3 hours because it was really dicficult, and I wasn't really interested enough in the story. Should I give it another try?
Oh wait, Snowboard Kids!?! I loved that game on N64!
Huh? This isn't the game I knew and loved.
Double sad.
megami tensei 1,2
shin megami 1,2,3,4 ( strange journy)
lost bible 1,2,3
devil children 1,2,3,4
devil summoner 1,2,3,4
persona 1,2,3,4
devil survivor 1,2
A lazy port of a super-Nintendo game which isn't even translated costs more than the port of a game released on the N64?
Eh, it's not as pathetic as Catherine, at least. The that that exists gives me nightmares.
Keep drinking that Kool-Aid, Index Corp.
I'd actually love to see a 3DS version of Nocturne, though. That game was so surreal that putting it in 3D would just make it more creepy.
@sewageking - Nocturne is a tough nut to crack if you don't learn the gameplay system and the jargon. SMT doesn't reward grinding stats so much as skills. And skill grinding ties in a great deal to demon fusion (think Pokemon breeding minus the ridiculous wait times) and skill inheritance.
I actually recommend everyone that wants to play Nocturne go through Persona 4 before doing so. Mainly because Persona 4 actually has a tutorial and can teach you many of the mechanics and language of SMT by way of a more friendly set of tutorials - Nocturne is pretty much devoid of tutorial.
As for story, it is what it is. You go through a pretty dark series of quests, make some choices and those choices actually do affect the endgame you'll get. Its not going to be very engaging unless you're really into the mythological and religious referencing.
Anyways, hopefully this comes out over here, even with that HUGE intrusive control pad in the bottom I could still enjoy it.
Also, lol @ Ursu, although I am interested in hearing why you don't like Catherine.
!NOTE
This game is not translated and displays Japanese text only."
Can someone teach Atlus how to make a proper description for the AppStore?
