The new Portal 2 add-on is ready for your Peer Review photo

Probably should have reinstalled Portal 2 last night. Whoops. The new, totally free "Peer Review" downloadable content is now available for PlayStation 3, PC, Mac, and Xbox 360 players.

This add-on expands the P-Body and Atlas adventure with another test track to get stuck in, plus a single-player and cooperative Challenge Mode.

To coincide with this launch, Valve has predictably dropped prices on the series. Portal 2 for $14.99 on Steam until October 6? I like your style, guys.

Finally! I'm glad Valve decided to add some actual replay value.

@Lycan XIII and any other Xbros

You need to boot up Portal 2, download the update and select the "Download Free DLC" option.

Awesome! Depending on whether or not Dark Souls is at my porch, I may boot this up tonight. I may boot it up tonight anyway, as I fear getting my ass handed to me for the umpteenth time will need a brief period of co-op play on a much, much easier game.

I don't support additional DLC that should have been part of the original game. Nice try Valve.

I assume it's the same on ps3?
Also, inb4 GLaDOS reference.

was hoping for single player DLC. Hopefully those single player challenges are more substantial than "least steps or least portals used."

CDprojektRED said that m$oft has regulations that don't let you release free dlc so why is this an exception?

Co-op chapter took me about 2 hours to get through. We seriously over-thought one of the puzzles though. A really nice collection of test chambers, I liked it. A bit more complex than I was expecting too.

Challenge mode seems like basically a time trial with portal usage added in, at least in single-player. Just the regular maps, no "harder" versions like in the original game. Unfortunate.

It's a shame I haven't touched Portal 2's co-op mode. I might do it if I ever get a second PS3 controller and a friend who is actually willing to play Portal with me.

I'm into single player games anyway. I wish Valve focused on that and only that.

@ TSAVO. Is /doucheface = sarcasm? I'm not hip to all the internerd lingo. The "thinking with portals" line was pretty clever.

Really? REALLY?? IT'S GODDAMN FREE. Don't complain- even the guys who think it took too long have nothing to complain about since the update is for a new series of test chambers in Co-op, as well as challenges for singleplayer AND co-op.

@warezlbanez

To be fair, even if it is free, something like adding a timer to the single player mode, or adding leaderboards is simple and should have been part of the original package. Despite the fact that it's free, we still had to wait 6 months for it (or however long it took) and for people like me who don't exactly have constant internet access and a huge harddrive, this post release DLC is a hassle. I'm not gonna complain though because I have yet to buy the game, because this just further proves my point of how the coop mode has screwed over single player gamers and valve obviously doesn't care about the single player as much anymore.

With the Source engine, let alone any game engine? No, it's not. I can definitely see the months that needed to be put into it.

Don't forget thinkingwithportals.com - a level design community that has very high-quality maps out for singleplayer and co-op. Since you don't have the game, download it from Steam for $15! :D

I thought this was great, and a great way for me to play with my friend who completed co-op way before me. I refused to play with him because he knew how to solve all the test chambers, but here we were on even footing.

Those tests were really fun, and the story elements were a great touch. I especially enjoyed the final cutscene.

Might I also add that cross-platform play is awesome? He plays on Steam and I play on PS3. The fact we can even voice chat is downright awesome. Take notes, developers.

Note: Cross platform play isn't new, Shadowrun anyone?

Also, the ending to this chapter is awesome and makes me want more!

@maxbraff it may not be new, but how often is it implemented well? How long ago was shadowrun? Exactly. I like how valve is pushing for it to happen more often, starting from portal 2 onto CS:GO

The humor in the new co-op chambers is a lot less 'passive-aggressive' than before. It's hilarious, and probably something John Cleese would take note of.
