The Neural Impulse Activator lets you control the game...with your face

The Neural Impulse Activator lets you control the game...with your face photo
     Technology

The Wiimote motion thing is SO 2007. You people need to get up to speed with the latest technology. OCZ has a new product called the Neural Impulse Activator that could take gaming a step further and eliminate that nasty movement issue altogether. The headband can sense electrical impulses thanks to a trio of sensors along the front. What does that mean to a gamer? Simply put, if wearing the headband you can control a character in-game with facial movements and specific thought patterns. Amazing? I think so.

Of course, not everyone wants to sit around at home looking like Olivia Newton-John. It seems the applications of the Neural Impulse Activator may be most powerful in areas other than games, most obviously in the cases of people afflicted with limb-paralysing diseases. However, it can be used for games, as proved by technical development VP Dr. Michael Schuette by using the device with Unreal Tournament III.

The Neural Impulse Activator should see the light of day by mid-year, and will set you back $300-$400. You Tube videos of gamers in facial spasm can't come soon enough.

In the article I read that thinking of expletives caused his character in UT3 to jump...

So 10 years from now, when I walk by some kids playin hopscotch, all I'll hear is FUCK DAMN SHIT ASS?

Pavlov must be proud. Or spinning in his grave? I can't decide.

No thanks. Anything that can get stuff out of my brain will possibly sooner or later be able to get stuff into my brain. Okay, that's paranoid and I know it, but has anyone of you played Dreamfall: The Longest Journey ?

Maybe at the moment, but not in ten years.
