Last night wrapped up the second, and I assume final season of AMC's The Killing. I didn't know what to think of the show at first, but man, I loved that show. Classic murder/ mystery with a super gritty Twin Peaks vibe, topped off with what I feel was a pretty satisfying conclusion. Now we take a deep breath, and prepare for Breaking Bad's return next month. Supposedly we're going to wait until 2013 to see Joel Kinnaman again in the Robocop remake.

On the network we left nothing to mystery. Destructoid focused on some interesting EA Games news. Japanator was putting the wraps on its exciting J-Games week. Flixist had some grim news about the tragic death of some turtles. Finally, Tomopop unravelled the mystery of where our Samus figures are. My TV watching is slowly thinning out. Any show you guys recommend?

Oh, US version of The Killing. Never have I fallen out of love with a TV show, so hard and so fast. The second season was an extended afterthought to a botched finale, and it never really recovered once they stuck with "important clue this week/red herring next week" formula. Why it didn't stick with the original's flow, I'll never know.

Good job Season 3 of Justified delivered the goods. That show is the epitome of hard boiled cool, right now.

I just watched "The Killing" season one on Netflix a few weeks ago, I hadn't heard of it before since I don't have cable anymore. Fun to watch especially since I live in Seattle so I had my eye out for hilarious location mistakes. My favorite one was the letter the mayoral candidate guy got from "Bainbridge Island Womens Correctional Facility", yeah that's just wrong and I should now that's where I grew up.

My favorite location mistake on the show is that the view from the Indian casino, which is supposed to be on an Island, is the view from West Seattle. In fact, it's the exact view from Hamilton Park, where I'm getting married this summer.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said. Justified is unbelievably good. If you want to watch a show that knows how to create terrific character moments with extremely satisfying confontations and conclusions - watch Justified or Breaking Bad. The Killing just seemed like it couldn't ever figure out what kind of story it wanted to tell.

The Danish version of the killing wasn't all it was cracked up to be - plot holes all over the place when they blatantly decided to extend it mid season - So I can't see myself giving the Yank version a go.

The french series 'Spiral' is where it's at for gritty european crime drama, it's great.
