Track down a Mexican Coke. It comes in the classic glass bottle and is made with real sugar. Tastes so much better.

Pepsi all the way for me. Throwback. Stocked up on cases of it. But the target by my house sells six packs of Mexican coke and I stocked up on a few of those. That or fountain Coke from movie theaters or McDs. Hate fountain Pepsi though. I'm weird I guess.

Ever since Coke switched to HFCS (NEW Coke) it has tasted like crap. I was a heavy Coke fan, but the new taste (and then re-introduced classic) were both crap and you could taste it. I didn't know what HFCS was at the time....but I switched to Jolt. Then later on it started to taste like crap....again recipe change.

The latest greatest was a Canadian brand Vintage Soda Cola which ruled for flavor and ingredients....but unfortunately went under because the two big boys made sure they were denied shelf space...thanks for the fair competition.

I hear what some of you are saying about the throwback....liked it but not enough to continue drinking it.

finally....wasn't Saskra Fortissima the big secret ingredient...which Coke announced no longer exists because of all the US spraying in South America to kill of the coca plants?

So how popular is Coke in the states anyway? (This may sound like a stupid question due to your population size) What is the general consensus about Coke? Is it the obvious choice or has it turned into a drink thats been around for TOO long and become bland? Here in Sweden it is nearly the ONLY choice of soft drink. Its the pinnacle of soft drinks.

I prefer the original 1886 formula. Only problem is it costs £50 per 500ml.

@vimm: Coke is still #1 in the states... but it'd be cool if there was actually still coca in it.. ;)
