We've seen some brilliant Metroid cosplay in the past, but I can safely say that the above is the most authentic translation of the characters as they appear in-game.

Animator Daniel Cattell, also known as ChozoBoy, constructed two costumes of heroine Samus Aran and a living Chozo Statue out of cardboard, recreating their sprites from Super Metroid. As you can see in the gallery below, looking at the costumes head-on completely shatters the illusion, but viewing them from the side is like witnessing the game literally come to life.

Dan actually debuted these costumes last year, but it wasn't until recently that Nintendo Power got in contact with him for an interview that'll appear in an upcoming issue. If you want to read the interview and view even more photos, hit up his deviantART page at the link below.

Everyone dressed as their favorite computer game & cartoon book characters for Heroes Con

I don't know half these characters, which is fine. I'm mostly perplexed as to why a bunch of these flamboyant, superhero-looking characters are carrying assault rifles. Why does Spawn need a gun? Lots of Deadpool takes, of c...more
