I must have watched the original Mortal Kombat 100 times as a kid. My friends and I worked it out where we would play multiple characters, and since we memorized all the lines, we could essentially act out the entire movie (we would often fight over who gets to say "your soul is mine"). Of course, even as a young child I could recognize the awfulness that was Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, and the only good memory I have of the sequel is laughing at the claymation finale.
If you want to relive some of those childhood memories, you can pick up the collection this week on Blu-Ray, which comes with the first two films and season one of the live action web series. It basically works out to getting the web series for free if you bought each Blu-Ray individually. So yeah, it's a thing!
