I am looking forward to the game but my anticipation for elderscrolls is higher then this and my anticipation for deus ex was higher then this before it came out. heck my anticipation for battlefield is more than this.

Actually, Half Life 3, Sim City 5 and a new turnbased X-COM headed by Julian Gallop are tied for the most anticipated game in history.

As a UK reader, I will not be partaking the Troll Deal, no matter how much respect I give Gamestop for implementing it! In fact, I will not be purchasing Battlefield 3 nor will I be purchasing MW3. Not at release anyway. My reasons for this decision are simple. First, I simply do not agree with EA's online pass system, so I'm currently avoiding all EA games (except the Mass Effect series. It's just too damn good to ignore). And the CoD franchise has always promised big and then left me dissapointed come launch week, so I no longer pay Activision's premium launch rate for CoD games - I'm happy to wait a year for them to drop.
Add to these reasons that I already have Arkham City and will soon be in possession of Sonic Generations Xbox & 3DS as well as Halo Anniversary and possibly Assassin's Creed Revelations, and I've got my gaming needs sorted for a few months!

I'm getting MW3 for the campaign and that's it. Not $60 new, hell no, but either from a friend or rental.
I can't wait for a few months down the line when I can pick this up for $20-$30, so I can play through the campaign. Seriously, I barely have time to progress through on multiplayer game, let alone two.
I'd say most anticipated game ever is a bit much. Black Ops hype was nuts at this point. I remember most of my friends going on about it non stop. Even people who weren't big gamers were all over it.
Now, I feel like that kind of excitement has died down. Not to say it won't sell by the shit load, it's just that most now know it's a yearly thing, like Fifa and Madden.
And it's hard to get that excited each and every year. Especially when it seems so similar to what we've been playing for nearly 4 years now.
I'll probably rent. I'm bored stiff of its MP and I can't justify paying full price for a 5-6 hour campaign at most. Even then, I preferred COD4s campaign out of all the rest. It was definitely not "super realistic" but it felt more down to earth.
This all just feels very B-Movie stuff now and MW2s campaign is nearly completely forgotten. I only remember the main set pieces. Any form of pacing seems to have been wiped out.
I feel like the MP has some great ideas and gameplay mechanics, but they have so many toys now that they need to make the maps bigger to handle that. Generally, the more closed in with previous COD maps, the more chaotic it gets.
I'm not saying BF3 size big, but just bigger to fit in all the new features COD has put in and expanded on since COD4.
I might pick up next years. Maybe.

I'll get mw3 on console, despite how "hated" it is I'm sure there won't be any trouble getting a group together and playing it with dtoiders. As for BF3, I planned on getting it on PC but I slowly got less excited about it as time went by and I read about origin, mods, server browser news etc, so I think I'll play MW3 for run and gun and RO2 on PC if I actually want something more tactical.
I'll rent it from redbox for 2 dollars, beat the single player in a day and send it back, and I'm not kidding or trolling, I'm not a CoD hater but during/after MW2 I couldn't stand the MP anymore, it's broken, and after a few years of playing the same thing, repetitive to the core, I almost question how anybody can enjoy it, especially if their like me who has played the series since day 1.

I like how the release for the launchtrailer is so tactically placed right before BF 3 comes out....
I am sure I will pick it up some day cheap but just for the singleplayer the COD multiplayer formula is just not my thing anymore...

Will rent it at RedBox for singleplayer. Dayum this game engine is showing its age even triple-A games from the last 2 years look better. I guess that's why they have all those quick cuts and use the high-res dev build for the commercials.
I am so burnt out on shooters. I'm just getting uncharted and skyrim. I'll pick up cod sometime over the summer next year to see how the single player shakes out. Be nice to put two in makarov's chest but not 59.99 good. I don't have Internet so battlefield is pretty much dead to me.

This trailer is less than meh when compared to the BF3 launch trailer. That feels kind of weird to say seeing as how they have usually made more epic trailers than battlefield. It's just been pounded into the ground like the guitar hero franchise. I do t like you activision. EA might make me "pay" to play online (not my personal opinion), but at least they don't make us buy the same damn game over and over again at full retail price.

Looks half way decent. I'll definitely borrow or rent it for the single player. I've never been a fan of COD's multiplayer,so I'll stick to BF3 and Uncharted 3 for my multiplayer fix.

and instead just released single player only CODs yearly and just stuck with the current multiplayer model as its own thing. basically, make it (the multiplayer) an XBLA/PSN thing. instead of a full priced 60 dollar SP/MP affair.
i mean, the past few CODs have really just been copy/paste on the MP side of things anyway. why not go with that model for the MP and update whenever needed, be it a technical thing or adding maps, guns, etc. all the while selling the SP portion for like, i dont know, 30 bucks.

Battlefield 3 single player looks about the same too, I don't think it really matter which one you get.

I like how prior to MW2, gamers were all "Modern Warfare was one of the best shooters evar, so glad they made a sequel, it looks AMAZING!!!11!!!!!!1!!!!!" And then when MW2 came out and became really popular, there's been a strong disdain at the mere mention of Call of Duty's name....

Wow I'm buying both but it's foolish to say that MW3 doesn't look graphically dated when compared to BF3.
@bubmario:I thought MW2 was disliked due to it's confusing (not to say stupid) single player campaign and clusterfucked-multiplayer.
