As part of the Vision Sound Music festival at the Southbank Centre, London, the world renowned London Philharmonic Orchestra put on a special concert dedicated to the wonderful world of videogame music. Entitled "Video Game Heroes," it's a collection of music from games old and new, all of which are close to conductor Andrew Skeet's heart.
Unfortunately for us (except the people who went of course), the concert took place last Saturday ( September 2.) However, there is an album coming out this Fall so look out for that. In the meantime, take a look at the set list and if possible read Mr. Skeet's blog about the project. Decide on whether you think his balance was just right, and enjoy the only footage from the concert so far below.

Angry birds? I thought this was about video game heroes not moody birds that commit suicide by slingshot. Also isn't is supposed to be "video game" heroes? :P Also CoD...really?
Come on guys. Personally, the same Mario > Zelda > Mario > Metalgear thing is getting a bit redundant. I think it's awesome that they're taking a bit from every generation!
CoD's theme is pretty damn iconic, no matter what you think of the games. Angry Birds, while not my top choice, is pretty recognizable, which is why I reckon' it's there. Seriously, quit being children, you're really that pissed about three tracks? Did you see how many other great games they picked?
Ok, true that Angry Birds theme might be the most annoying jingle to ever be created, but the guy behind that track has made some awesome stuff. Ari Pulkkinen should deserve to have a better song represent him in a concert like this.

y u so playin' COD music?
Just no.
The MW2 main theme is awesome, it's Hans Zimmer for fuck's sake.
That annoying theme...
Not trying to say I'm right, but that theme repeats the same annoying thing over... And over...
Just my opinion but it's Not going to be on any of my top 100 Game music picks. Ever.
