Warner Brothers has announced that The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is set to launch November 1. You can bet that both the 1/11/11 and 11/11/11 launch dates are going to be crammed with games that just can't resist such auspicious numbers.

In addition to the date, there's new box art too, so check that out if you have trouble recognizing Lord of the Rings games on store shelves.

It'll head to your usual systems -- Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It looks like three games we've all played before, but with more Tolkein. I don't mean that as a negative, either.

There is a dwarf in this Lord of the Rings: War in the North trailer. You can see it with your eyes when you watch the video.  This new trailer details the game's story, in which three heroes rise to fight Sauron's evil henchman. The game's looking mighty promising and I'm quite interested in checking it out. It's gotta be better than that last LotR game they did.
