The Legend of Zelda on Oculus Rift is pretty damn neat

Through the magic of virtual reality and the Oculus Rift, we're going to start getting a first-person glimpse at the hell that some of our favorite protagonists have to endure. I wasn't too fond of Tektites from the comfort of my overhead view. Now that they're jumping right at me, I can't help but hate the little buggers.

This project called The Legend of ZeldaVR from developer Ubiquitron is currently in beta and only features the game's overworld and first dungeon. However, a full version is expected to come out in the next month or so for PC and Mac.

The idea of playing through the games of my childhood with a VR peripheral has me all sorts of giddy with excitement. If nothing else, I just want the pleasure of throwing jars at people in ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron. Pesky humans.
