Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Okay, I am not even exaggerating. This is the greatest thing I have ever seen.

Using the custom level editor in N+ for XBLA, user 007craft managed to create side-scrolling platformer levels to resemble the level design in NES masterpiece The Legend of Zelda.

Honestly, it is kind of hard to explain. You just need to watch it. Like, right now.

Incredible, huh? He/she even managed to get the monster placement perfect. And notice how the exit gate keys are placed in the caves? And Aquamentus?! DID YOU SEE AQUAMENTUS?! Genius! Granted, I might be a little more impressed than the average person since the levels I have designed in N+ consist of a straight platform with only two stationary mines to jump over.

What do you think? Are there any other classic games you would love to see recreated in the world of N+ (um, Metroid please!)? And why is everyone in this world so much more frickin’ talented than I am?

As an added note: Everyone needs to download N+. It is one of my favorite games so far this year.

That is all. :)

@deaddays,
I totally respect your opinion, but designing levels in N+ is tough. And to have top down perspective maps from The Legend of Zelda transferred successfully to a side-scrolling platformer? That is impressive.

Sorry to waste your time. :)

Holy chit man! That was so nostalgic. I agree that the most impressive part was the incredible attention to detail. Also I love the fact that even the triforce room at the end (which is supposed to be the moment of victory and relief) looks hard as hell!

Great work though... that's nuts

I think I'd be truly impressed if I played either of those games ever. As it stands, just looks like a lot of blocks set around. I can barely tell what's happening in the video. I fail.
