Just once I'd like it if an interviewer actually asked about the important things. Am I the only person int he world who cares (or seemingly even knows) about the frequency response range? That's the most important part of any headset and it's something nobody ever mentions.
Speaking of, looking up the specs for all these headsets, they've got a lot of nice software packed in but the actual audio quality reads terribly. That XP500? You can get earbuds with a better response range than those. 7.1 means nothing when the audio is a muddy mess. Not that anything more complicated than basic stereo ever works well in a wireless unit anyway.

I'm curious about the technology behind the headsets, like how they're made, the size of the speaker cone, etc. I'm impressed that headsets can emulate 7.1 surround. Also I'm wondering what their presets are like.I'm guessing it's various EQs? How comfortable are the headsets to wear?

meeeeh, I had the wireless x41, it is not worth it. Crappy sound, are the x500 better? I don't think so. BUT, it's nice. I managed to use the X41 for my TV, Xbox, PS3 (not the mic) and PC. That was kinda awesone...but the sound...gawd it was terrible.
I may tried the x500, BT is pretty sweet...can answer phone call from your iphone when gaming, and that audio mixer thing that you can download. I don't know, looks nice, but I know the sound will suck, wireless audio isn't that nice still :3

Incredibly comfy to wear, I have some x11's and never once suffer discomfort from them. I will be getting one of these new models no doubt even though I really dont need to lol.
I had some older wireless TBs that I really liked except the frames were cheaply made.
I now have some A30s that I enjoy but they have their issues too. They fall off if I barely move my head, the wires! Damn the wires and personally I don't feel that they sound as good as the turtles did.

@brainderailment It depends on the model. The cheaper sets plug into the red/white RCA outputs from the console while the more expensive ones use the fiber optic port.
Hearing enemy footsteps isn't cheating. The sounds are always there, but they're too faint to really hear without a headset. A lot of games have sounds like that, to the point where I almost always game with a headset.
