Also, to everyone bitching about the lack of humor in this trailer, tell me ONE GTA trailer that was funny? But then when you got the game and started playing it, the game was hilarious. This will not be any different.

I actually think this is the funniest GTA trailer to date

GOTY 2008

and for those worried about the humor being gone, it's still there. you see it a little when there's that party at the crib, dude's hiding in the trash, and at the end. you also see it plastered all over the billboards and stuff. the story WILL be serious (and, from what it look, much much better), but the humor won't be gone.

The trailer is supposedly up on the PSN as well, but I haven't seen any sites reporting that (strangely).

Graphics look pretty good. Faces look decent. Models okay. Animation... still the same crap, stiff movement you see in the other GTA games. Won't notice it when one's playing, but damn, someone should get some proper animators into Rockstar's offices and have them take charge.

Lemmie guess it's gonna have framerate issues, freezing and require a patch to fix on PS3.

WTF!!!!!!!!! no humour, cmon guys rock star aint no idiot, there gonna be tons of humour, that what makes GTA so much better than the drivel you see cluttering the shelves, and graphics, when on gods green earth has it been important of gta to have good graphics, SA looked like shit on crack, but hey its still reigned supreme, nobody buys GTA fot the graphics, that buy it for the EXPERIENCE, and possibly the story, games gotta be serious now, rockstar themselves said that there trying to redo the whole style of gta, and what i seen, theyve suceeded, now somebody shoot jack thompson and co before his shoves his dic in this game and ass rapes it until it is banned, which will never happen here the uk, but im not so sure about the US

Aside from the first teaser, I haven't watched any other footage, skipped articles and have only seen pictures on accident. I still think it's a stale series with installments posing as new titles when they're more like mods (making it 80's, flipping the soundtrack and adding a motorcycle is altogether new? riiiight)

I'll never get the GTA craze.

I love how no one is ever happy with anything. And how can people bash oh a story that we know next to nothing about? Yea......

Please give me these "shitty" graphics and fun as hell gameplay over just about anything out now. I don't need perfect realism to have fun. And I'm fine with adding a degree of serious to a game. It adds intrigue and can improve a story, not to mention you can have humor with it. But I just hope none of the haters buy it and miss out on the fun.

I would love to be proven wrong about the seriousness of this game, it just is extremely hard to see here. On gtavcstories they tried to throw in a stupid fucking love story and revenge bullshit, I just want a lighthearted attitude to my murder simulators.

Orionsaint, doubt it, rockstar said the problems they encoutered was due to some 360s not having hard drives, and having to stream data through the disc, which they said wasnt suitable for such are large, graphic intense game, but they said the ps3 didnt have any slowdown, etc cos they used the added advantage of the in built hard drive, allowing the game to run smoothly

I think we all can agree that the PSP GTA's were like the diet versions. It's understandable because it was a handheld game built from the ground up.

And I think it is true that the game is going for a less cartoony approach, and that's great. Too much of the same is too much of the same. I still highly doubt that we will not see the satirical comedy we've all grown to love. In the first trailer they have the MetLife building named as "Get-A-Life."

I have faith in Rockstar. Out of all the console GTA's, none have disappointed me. They do good work.

WTF? A boring, uninspired storyline? When the hell did we all turn into the cultural elite? Are we all expecting a Shakespearian reenactment or some sound scientific thesis? No, it's freakin GTA, where you drive around, shoot, and blow up shit.

And the graphics? Who gives a shit?! Gameplay > Graphics any day of the week. I'm just hoping the controls don't suck, like the earlier Xbox versions of GTA.

STFUANJPG, I'm all aboard this game.

I am excited but have some of the same concerns: will the game lose its trademark humor, are the controls good, choppiness, is chocolate covered bacon WRONG? Scratch that last one. I am eager for the game, but I have to agree it looks shiny. Last year the rage was SWEAT engine graphics, this year it seems to be !@@!#! bloom effect. Enough already. I want to play a game not stare at a super nova...

gangsta!

exactly heretic, i dont know where all this graphic shit came from, nobody cared the last 10 years, and gta grew enourmously popular despite the graphics(gta1 to 4, numba 1 released, 1998, 4 in 08) so why now?

I might say needs more gameplay, but i think everyone else has said that. I think that everyone is fighting a little too much over this. Its a GTA game, people. Its not meant to be the highest in the graphics hierarchy, its meant to be in the upper uppermost echelon of fun!

Well, this looks pretty good — I actually like where they’re taking the story (if nothing, the Russian mafia is a new direction and something that the series hasn’t done before). I seriously hope it plays as well on PS3 as it does on 360.

It's nice to see a GTA that actually looks good. I'd like to say that I'm interested, but honestly I could never really get into the previous GTA games. The last GTA that I really enjoyed was GTA London on the PSone.
