Weird. I saw Metroid Prime Trilogy for $20 at a Gamestop, like, 2 months ago. :o But I'll definitely try to pick this up.

I don't own a Wii myself, but I've been interested in this game for a while. Knowing this, I might pick one up for the heck of it. My girlfriend has a Wii, so I can play it on there and keep the thing as an investment to boot.

Wow didn't know Metroid Prime Trilogy was so rare, I just remember that when I heard they had stopped production that I drove to the closest videogame bearing store and was lucky enough to snag their last copy ^^
Well I can understand they're going on the safe side of things. They can always re-release it if there's more demand, but they can't go back if they make more units that they sell. Hopefully this game does well and gets a re-release :)
Anybody interested in this game is already planning on grabbing it launch day, anyway. I don't see this as a problem.
Well to be completely fair about Prime Trilogy it was going for $25 at Game crazy, and $20 at target for a few weeks before they became super expensive.
Though I think this time Xseed is going to be closer to meet demand then before, most of their retail games have dropped price a few months after release, and they probably don't want that to happen again since they don't want to keep taking losses.
Also I really hope someone localizes Pandora's Tower.

I already have the J-version of this game, but I think I'll get an English SE version if the U.S gets one.

Already have it preordered. I'm really looking forward to this since Lost Odyssey was one of my favorite games ever.
Have it preordered, going to confirm that it's paid off when I pick up Xenoblade next week. If there's a special edition I'm all over that shit.
I don't actually own a Wii but after hearing this I'm seriously considering picking this up anyway. There are a couple of games for the Wii that I want to play, basically this and Xenoblade, and I was thinking about maybe picking one up in the future for really cheap just to play them. So if this is going to be a limited print I might as well pick it up now just in case. And even if I never play it maybe it will turn out to be a good investment in the future.
I bought the metroid trilogy for my sister and her family for 30 bucks, yet all they play is mario and sonic at the olympics, and whatever dance games they have.
Limited edition please, I was really bummed that xenoblade didn't have one, but xseed is pretty bro when it comes to limited editions (as with many other niche studios) so I'm hopeful.

What a bullshit way to fabricate this game's value. -_- There's no reason to release only a limited amount of copies in the US other than just to exaggerate interest by making this game "rare".
i must get this at all costs. i really hope my wal-mart or local GS will stock this, though i highly doubt my boss will stock this i suppose it wouldn't hurt to see if we can pick this up :P

Lucky for me, I got the Metroid Prime Trilogy when it was still readily available.
I wish XSEED would take a stance on the limited edition, though, because I'm not sure whether I should preorder now to make sure I get a copy of the game or wait and see if they announce a special edition.

that metroid prime trilogy stuff is wild... i bought it from the store i worked at for $30 when i heard it was going to be a very limited run.
as for this and xenoblade saga, i'm going to snatch up both for that very reason. i will attempt to play them, we'll see how that goes.

HOLMES is this game really better than Xenoblade Chronicles? The European reviews are the other way around, saying Xenoblade is like, the best JRPG of this generation and the most significant evolution of the JRPG in a long time, while the Last Story is merely great. I'm not a huge JRPG fan but all the hype around these games has piqued my interest and initially because of what you said on Podtoid based on the pirated Japanese versions and because Famitsu gave it the slightly better review I decided I'd get one and it'd be Last Story but now I don't know any more and I preordered Xenoblade cause the EB games guy convinced me I might not be able to get a copy if I don't and now I'm so backlogged I don't know when I'll get a chance to play them, and these are huge games, but do you think I should get both anyway?

I'm no Jonathon Holmes, but I've talked to various individuals who played both titles, and they all recommended Xenoblade over The last story (while stating that both deserve plays). The battle system for Xenoblade is suppose to be very deep and very customizable, the game is also pretty big, with many people stating that it's bigger than Skyrim. Many people also prefer the narrative of Xenoblade over the last story, basically from people have said, Xenoblade is an orgasm.
On the other hand you have The last story, which is reportedly pretty linear and take somewhere around 20-25 hours to complete, compared to the potential 100 of xenoblade. I hear the combat system is very good, the only draw back to it is that the game is way to easy, thus the combat never realizes it's true potential. Narrative is said to be a bit cliched, though well delivered.
Basically I'm just summing up what reviewers and what people I've talked to have stated. I'm getting both, but I think some would still prefer the last story, even if xenoblade is the "objectively" better game. For example my brother has little time on his hands, and he prefers a straight forward game over one that is open, he also dislikes combat systems that take up to much time to get into, basically he prefers a simple game over an overwhelming game, and there's nothing wrong with that. Get both bro, I am, and so are many.

Gotta say, while I'm enjoying the Last Story, I find the plot plays out in some unsatisfying ways, which is frustrating for a game with such a linear narrative. The combat is really great, especially in larger scale areas, but overall I definitely prefer Xenoblade, which is just so expansive and free. Last Story is still very much worth playing though.
Well, I'm definitely picking this up at launch regardless. Guess I better get around to pre-ordering though.
Hoy shit, I'm glad I already preordered this. I still hope we get some kind of collector's thing, though -- At LEAST the art book and soundtrack that every other region got. Xseed is good about giving stuff like that.

@Wrath and Pride: Thanks for the info! I'll probably end up getting both. I worry though because honestly, seeing a few gameplay videos from these games, nothing about them jumps out and makes me really want to play them. I'm not a big JRPG guy and I worry I'm getting caught up in hyperbole. But fuck it. I'll buy Xenoblade Chronicles and hopefully I'll understand it's greatness when I actually play it... even if I shudder at the thought of it taking as much time as Skyrim, which was basically the only game I played for three months or so. I'm already buying more games than I can play. Good to know the Last Story won't be quite so huge an undertaking at least.

Also a jrpg is a jrpg no matter how good it is (don't expect second coming in other words), so you might want to consider some type of alternative for the games, like renting (I wonder if the option would be available), and then consider buying if the genre isn't your thing. But if you do like jrpgs then apparently the games are most definitely worth getting.

there's no way they had it for $20, unless it was a mistake, since the price on it when I bought one like 5 months ago was $70.
I also got a sealed copy around then for $90 and sold it a few months back for $120, so I doubt they're SELLING for $300.... maybe that's what they're Asking, but no one in their right mind would pay that (unless MAYBE, and only Maybe it was graded and in mint condition)..
