The last time I was talking about a Square Enix non-Final Fantasy RPG, it was Infinite Undiscovery. The game was bloody rubbish, too. With the taste of that game still bitter in my mouth, its publisher has a chance to redeem itself tomorrow with The Last Remnant, a game which our very own Dale North played at TGS and was quite satisfied with.
Whether or not the game manages to impress us all remains to be seen, but while we wait to find out, here are some videos. The first one, seen above, demonstrates the battle system. As you can see, the combat rather confusing to look at. I'm sure it's a lot simpler once you play it.
As for the second video contained after the jump ... well, what can I say? It may very well be the most exciting video ever posted on Destructoid. Words can't really describe it, so just go right ahead and play it. Make sure you're sat down though, because you might be knocked to the ground by a shockwave of pure awesome.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I do not know why, but I kinda want this game to be good.
Square-enix needs to make a Dynasty Warriors rpg. I am jonesing for a Lu Bu boss fight.
Mr. Sterling..hyping the masses for what's rubbish half of the time since whatever year Mr. Sterling was born.
If I have to play one RPG this winter, and I can only see myself playing one, it'll be Valkyria Chronicles, though.
Nuh uh, YOU'RE a Destructoid!!!
Prat.
I think the "boy" part was the insult
I trust you guys the most, that's why I am asking :)
Also, which version are these videos from?
And a last thing, that's gotta be the worst I've sent the Unreal 3 perform.
The battle system looks fantastic to me. It seems like a real battlefield, with many things happening at once, instead of the classic RPG run up, hit monster, run back to line mode of battle.
