don't be a fanboy loser. i know it's hard, but try.
Just because RE4's gameplay transitioned well to motion control doesn't mean that all games are better with motion control.
If what we have seen of The Last Guardian is indicative of the final product there is absolutely no reason for motion controls.
I like many others do plan on getting move at some point, so having more and more games support it is a nice thing.
Move doesn't necessarily have to be limited to motion controls ala waggle fests. 3D mice are not a new thing and move can provide that kind of control one would think.
At the very least it would at least provide a good reason for a second play-through.
Also, gimmicks are transparent so it would only help the innovation of motion controls.
VIDEOGAMES DO NOT NEED SUCH GIMMICKS STRAPPED ON TO MAKE THEM GOOD/APPARENT! 3D IN IT'S CURRENT STATE WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING MORE THAN A FUCKING GIMMICK, AND THIS MOTION CONTROL TRIPE HYPE IS THE FUCKING BLACK PLAGUE ALL OVER AGAIN! FUCK!
/endrage.
P.S. This game will be awesome :D
The Wii remote didn't necessarily have to be limited to a waggle fest either.
As far as taking away from the production value, in some manner or other it has to. Move control will be implemented at the cost of another potential feature. Whether or not the hours spent on motion control are worth it be debated, but the fact that they come at the cost of another feature is not.

Did it say anywhere that motion control would be required? Did it say that you won't be given a choice? No? Then shut the fuck up about it already.
That said, while I have a 'wait and see' attitude about Move in relation to FPS and strategy games, The Last Guardian I will be playing through with the standard controller. If Team ICO is innovative with Move implementation, then I'll consider replaying with that method, but not initially.
Options are fine, but they should release the game on schedule, and patch it after release with Move support if they want to.
That is all.
*huddles in a corner and starts sucking his thumb*
Waggle is dead, long live 1:1.
Release this with a Move option and I will play it with the Move, just like every other game with the option!
So far I've been playing...
Sports Champions - and it's fucking brilliant, Imagine HD Wii sports, but on a whole new level! - unofficially NEEDS 2 controllers, Archery and Gladiator Duel are the best sports with 2 controllers, but they're both pretty shit with 1 controller.
RUSE - Pointer controls are spot on and once you're used to the "menu open/close" gestures it work flawlessly.
MAG beta - OK, now this one is seriously fun, but after 200+ hours with a controller it's taking some time to get used to, doesn't help that the beta is only open a few hours a day, and only in the week. This week I will get my settings sorted and get to proper grips with Move-MAG.
Eyepet - is still Eyepet, the Move controller is a nice addittion, and will be fun for a while when new, but as someone who's already played about my fill of eyepet it doesn't add much.
Tumble - Very impressive tech demo.
Heavy Rain Move demo - this game just got 100x better!! Can't wait to re-play.
So uh yeah, so far seen a wide variety of Move games and I've been suitably impressed with all of them and can fully understand the potential of Move in various Genres.
Just needs more games now, other than Sports Champions, the Move specific launch titles are so-so, but the REAL games with optional move controls are awesome!
I giggled as I walked outof the store with my Move controllers.
If you dont like it now, whats to say it wont get better with games to come?
You wanted it to fail the second you picked up the control.
Kinda funny how you can say shit like this and almost noone jumps you, but Sexychoc/Romo types anything and the whole alliance lets them eat it
I thing titles like Tumble or Echocrome 2, RE5 gold works awesome with move. Dont know if i would use it with Last Guardian though, depends on implementation. But if its optional it doesnt matter, no need to cry.
Although, options is nice
"We'd like people who don't normally play games to play..." That is a fucking retarded thing to say. Do they really believe that they're attracting two different audiences by offering both types of controls? That motion controls attract new gamers because they're more accessible than a regular controller? Bullshit!! If you've never played a game in your life, or if you only play Angry Birds, or Poker on you iPhone motion controls won't make this game any easier for you to play.
I love the Wii, but sometimes this whole "The Wii makes gaming more accessible" shit has gone way too far. The Wii and it's motion controls didn't sell because it made gaming accessible to "non gamers." it sold because it was cheap.
It's the lousy no name games like the carnival games that are designed so poorly that it puts everyday gamers, and infants on almost the same play level. I'm sure those games are on their way to Move and Kinect, but it's pretty easy to ignore them.
Motion controls have there place, and when a game uses them properly in makes the game more fun to play. It does not make it easier. If this game plays like Ico or SofC I can 100% guarantee that my wife will suck at this game no matter what controller she has in her hands.
I could go on about this all damn day really. In the end it's Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft who have to do something to squash this mindset when even their developers are thinking it too.
I've never seen any PS3 games, move enabled, move specific or not, look worse than a Wii game. Graphics wise, Wii vs PS3 is a fucking stupid argument to start dude.
I'll accept, the Move launch games are lacking, but the EXACT THINGS they're lacking are due out in the next couple of months. The Move needs: The Fight, Socom, Killzone etc.
Personally i'm more than happy with it because i got 2 of them and Sports champions is brilliant with 2. I will agree that Archery and Gladiator dual are SHIT with 1 controller, but with 2 they're fucking fantastic! I played Archery till my shoulders ached this weekend. And Gladiator Dual is actually quite a workout for a lazy gamer type like myself.
I'm also totally getting Tiger Woods 11 at the weekend. Looks awesome.
I can use it to play RUSE way easier than it was with the controller and can play the MAG beta with it in the evenings.
If that's not enough a spot of Tumble or the new Echochrome will always be fun.
After playing the Table tennis on Sports Champs I'm pretty hyped for Virtua Tennis. Also Hustle Kings and that Bowling one. It's pretty incredible how precise the controllers are.
I think the main problem people have with Move (apart from it being made by Sony) is that people are used to motion controls BEING a console. Move isn't a console. It doesn't need it's own games really. It's an interesting, fun, immersive, highly precise, very versatile controller OPTION.
I've noticed that, too, that the anti-Sony fanboys like sofik88 get free reign. I suppose it's because the Xbox user base on Destructoid is like 3-to-1 over the PS3 user base.
As far as coding Move support, the SOCOM development team said it was a very easy procedure, and that Sony provided a programmer just for that. Seriously, does anyone really think Team ICO wouldn't get Sony's full help and support on this?
My biggest worry about the "additional Move controls" is waning support from developers. Remember when SIXAXIS tilt controls were in just about every game when the PS3 was first released? Now there are virtually none. I think Sony would be better served making games designed for Move from the ground up. That said, options are options. If I don't like it, I can turn it off.
Forget the 3D. The 3DS has that market sown up.
Forget motion controls.
Just work on the game, after Shadow of the Colossus they should be trying to make a game with a GOOD FRAMERATE.
Because some people can't afford things, they don't want anyone to have it.
"Because some people can't afford things, they don't want anyone to have it."
Wow, what a stupid thing to say. I mean I bet you literally put 0 seconds of thought into that.
"Sofik88 + Sexualchocolate. If you mix them both together you'd probably have a pretty fair review."
Hmm, that's an interesting theory. Bash two idiots together and see what you get. But I think it'd be easier to just pretend the moronic extremists just didn't exist in the first place.
